Posted July 20, 200818 yr An obvious idea, but one that hasn't actually been done? If so however, do forgive me... Here is mine, in chronological idea (I'm only 24, before I receive any comments of a lack of 60s and 70s!) 01 : Donna Summer "I Feel Love" 1977 vFox61M_0Fw One of the most influential tracks ever made. 02 : Blondie "Atomic" 1980 Like a bit of Blondie. To me, this is a pop track, a rock track, a disco track and will still sound great dropped into any kind of set! DwqYsoDqbCQ 03 : Chaka Khan "I Feel For You" 1984 Not just a favorite number one of mine, but also one my my fave 80s moments! Prince knows how to penn a track for a whaling diva, of he did... j9xkVI0716Q 04 : Madonna "Into The Groove" 1986 You can dance... for inspiration. kX5VLMQeBuk 05 : Steve Silk Hurley "Jack Your body" 1987 THE moment house music made it's declaration into the mainstream - for good. REJOICE! mQcg-dRg5h4 06 : Mel & Kim "Respectable" 1987 The charts would be under a stanglehold of SAW-produced (gems). This was probably the best of the lot! Ta-ta-ta-ta-t-t-t-t-ta-TAY! vLr30auVybY 07 : Berlinda Carlise "Heaven Is A Place On Earth" 1987 I'm by no means a fan of Berlinda, but there's no denying the sheer euphoria of this seminal 80s anthem! VQahvFdQVu8 08 : Sonia "You'll Never Stop Me From Loving You" 1989 This is my 'I know it's dirge, but just let me have my 3 minutes of pleasure" moment. Love that chunky, bouncy SAW sound! 6nMp3YvL6mg 09 : Shapespheres Sister "Stay" 1992 Not the first time this has made a 'my album of...' list. 5pC3VJA_CB8 10 : Whigfield "Saturday Night" 1994 "Oink Oink Oink Oink Oink Oink. Dee-dee-da-da-da!" xcmBaRAj7FU 11 : Livin' Joy "Dreamer" 1995 A timeless euro-house anthem! 86btbPOFfaE Edited July 20, 200818 yr by ScottyEm

July 21, 200818 yr Right-o here's mine These are in chronological order and 9 of them are in my all-time favourites. 1. Mr. Tamborine Man - The Byrds (1965) The best Dylan cover to make number 1. 2. Good Vibrations - The Beach Boys (1966) Unbelievably good. 3. Maggie May - Rod Stewart (1971) Yes it's Rod but this is such a good song. 4. I Feel Love - Donna Summer (1977) Such an easy and obvious choice but that doesn't detract from it's brilliance. 5. Wuthering Heights - Kate Bush (1978) The only Kate song to make #1 so it has to be here. 6. Are 'Friends' Electric? - Tubeway Army (1979) Stupendous synth riff underlies a tale of complete alienation. 7. (Just Like) Starting Over - John Lennon (1980) A sentimental choice AND I love singing it in karaoke! 8. Ghost Town - The Specials (1981) Perfect summation of the times. 9. Don't You Want Me - Human League (1981) Oh I never get bored of this. 10. Nothing Compares 2 U - Sinead O'Connor (1990) Defining cover of the Prince song. 11. Firestarter - The Prodigy (1996) I still can't believe this got to #1. 12. Can't Get You Out of My Head - Kylie Minogue (2001) The perfect pop song?

July 22, 200818 yr This was actually quite tough. But I managed to narrow it down to twelve: 1. Freda Payne - Band Of Gold (1970) No.1 for 6 weeks no less. Love this song! 2. Donna Summer - I Feel Love (1977) The real start of techno as we know it. Flawless 3. Blondie - Heart Of Glass (1979) Wonderful. 4. Human League - Don't You Want Me (1981) Best song Abba never wrote? Classic! 5. Culture Club - Do You Really Want To Hurt Me (1982) Sublime. They never topped it. Seriously underrated 6. Dead Or Alive - You Spin Me Round (Like A Record) (1985) My all time favourite track  it may be sad, but it always cheers me up when I'm down. The perfect pop record! 7. Pet Shop Boys - West End Girls (1986) Torn between this and Always On My Mind. Decided to go with this, though all 4 of their UK#1s were excellent 8. M/A/R/R/S - Pump Up The Volume (1987) Still gets dancefloors going now. Love it! 9. Belinda Carlisle - Heaven Is A Place On Earth (1988) Great party pop record. 10. Enigma - Sadness Pt. 1 (1991) Fantastic 11. White Town - Your Woman (1997) Best one hit wonder ever? 12. ATB - 9pm...Till I Come (1999) Outstanding club track. This was my holiday song of that year.
