July 28, 200816 yr I don't think anyone minds F/G - we all seem to be hearing the last few lyrics differently

July 29, 200816 yr Thanks TT - it's good to see Jason posting again - I used to have long convos with him on the D boards way back when - he says really intelligent things  I love it too F/G   - it really does get better with each listen. You can hear every breath he takes - like you are in the same room with him and he is singing to you alone- his vocals are totally to the front but blending totally with the music. Will definitely have to listen through headphones, especially when he whispers    Edited July 29, 200816 yr by munchkin
August 10, 200816 yr Posted by Nicola on Devoted from Company mag. Will Young Let It Go He's been underground fora while, but Wil picks up where he left off with this album of great songs. Don't expect anything ground-breaking from the pop idol, but stand out tracks like new single 'Changes' will have you singing along in no time. Also look out for 'I Won't Give Up' *** (3 stars! Nice one - but think they've underestimated it a bit. We'll have to see. :cheer: Should this topic be pinned - it's liable to get lost. Edited August 10, 200816 yr by munchkin

Thanks munchkin, :D it looks like they've just pinched that from the musicweek article, probably haven't even got the album to review yet. I unpinned the thread until the release munchkin, as I think it'll get more noticed with the main threads. Edited August 10, 200816 yr by suggy

August 11, 200816 yr Thanks for all the bits and pieces everyone. I see that although there have been various mentions of PI, and innuendo about gayness, the word "comeback" hasn't been mentioned. I think "being underground" is the closest. Glad about that because, although he hasn't released for a while, Will's new single (and album) is hardly a comeback. It's not like he's been out of the public eye and doing bugger all these last three years.
August 19, 200816 yr Sorry if this as been posted MSN Will Young: "Changes" Remember Will Young? He's returning with some sophisticated pop soul http://estb.msn.com/i/38/131E4F642E5DC3B1F6E7E74BA4F2F.jpg Will Young: "Changes" © RCA Will puts in another faultless vocal performance on a song from forthcoming album Let It Go, which he co-wrote. It has a kind of George Michael-style (post-Wham! of course) sophistication to the production with The London Studio Orchestra providing strings, while the melody is typically gentle but quietly effective. Whether Will still has a fanbase in these transient times remains to be seen but, on this evidence, he's still doing what he does best. Rate it here http://entertainment.uk.msn.com/music/revi...umentid=9258497
August 19, 200816 yr Thanks sunday. Loving this description. He's returning with some sophisticated pop soul
August 19, 200816 yr Whether Will still has a fanbase in these transient times remains to be seen I can safely say that he still does have a fan base. A huge one!
August 20, 200816 yr Author Have there been anymore leaks for new songs from the album? :o None Matt, apart from Let It Go, Grace, Disconnected, If Love Equals Nothing and of course Changes, so there's still another 8 tracks that we know nothing about, other than one of them is another "highlight" and a Freemason's mixed one. :D

August 20, 200816 yr JanetL found this Brilliant American blog review. , August 18, 2008 UK Download of the Day: "Changes" by Will Young Will Young is a testament to the strength and longevity a reality competition winner/contestant can have if its done right. For the Americans who don't know him, Will Young was the winner of the UK's Pop Idol, the show that inspired American Idol (diehard AI fans will remember him appearing on Season 1). He's released three albums in the UK, all of which have gone multi-platinum. He's sold 3 million albums (in US standards, that's 10 million) there, making him pretty much a pop star. Will has released the video for his new single "Changes", from the upcoming album Let It Go.The video was nice and all, but what really impressed me was the song itself. When you consider his contemporaries Justin Timberlake and Usher, you begin to wonder if Will is a bit mature than them. Its a fantastic ballad, following the British music pattern of pulling from the past and updating it. I hear some soul influences, but it still clearly pop record. Even with some dramatic flourishes in the chorus, it's still a very cool, mellow track. It's very reminiscent of early 2000's Robbie Williams. Will delivers a pitch-perfect vocal here, but that's to be expected. He sounded pitch-perfect on "Evergreen" (his coronation single). The difference is that song was a bit predictable and schmaltzy (even by my standards). "Changes" is far more creative and interesting of a song; very unexpected when you look at the pop landscape now. He's come a long way since being crowned the UK's idol. Chances are, he won't be coming over to the US, so we'll just have to settle for YouTube. For those living across the pond, you can purchase it online or in the shops on the 22nd of September (that's the European date format, Americans). I definitely recommend doing so.
