Now, none of these are really new songs, just new versions of existing tracks. This really isn't going to get the hardcore buying the downloads, and as of now the bands commercial stance is only that of a fanbase act, and so the single will sell to those, being those who already have the album. However, a petition has been launched to get 1) a physical format released and 2) add a new song.

I know I'll get flamed for this, and get the pi** ripped out of me, because this album hasn't been a sucsess in terms of overall sales, (chart position wise it's a sucsess, as it made the top 10 with zero publicity and airplay, but record labels only really care about sales, charts are just a bonus) and Feeder's singles have been dropping down the chart fast, but at the end of the day I really do not give a damn.

I'm doing my bit to promote a petition, and since there are people on here who do like Feeder and collect their material, I know this petition will be of interest to them and will pass the message onto their friends :). I know that like myself they like collecting singles so they have something to hold in their hand, plus new songs, so they will be suddenly disappointed that there is now a Feeder single that does not offer these benefits.

I do understand that the label are in financial difficulty, and have not had very much money to promote the album, they have worked with the band ever so hard over the past 13 years, and been a big help in getting them where they are today. however, it really does not cost that much to press a small run of CD's for the hardcore :). Read the comments on the petition, many angry and annoyed fans.

Thanks for listening :).

to be honest i think all singles should have a new b-side whoever they are.

and they should still physically release every single, even if its limited. just 7" would do.

As for Feeder, i really enjoyed the album when i first started listening but it got boring fast to be honest these days all the money for Feeder is in the live music buisness.

I think it's a brilliantly crafted album, being ignored by the media just because they're favoured over all these "NEW BANDS!!, NEW BANDS!!". When they broke through in 2001 all this new bands rubbish was just starting up, so they did really well to get a gold album while all that was going on, and therefore did it when it was hard to get collumn inches cos they were not new.

As for the petition, it's coming along pretty well!.

But how do i sign the damn thing =P

I need my Tracing Lines single in all formats...miles better than We Are The People (which are all signed ) and better than ANYTHING on the amazing album!!!

yeah too right - you'd like to think that certain bands could at least get in the bottom half the top 75 with a release that there due to the fanbase collecting it - rather than people downloading chasing cars for the billionth time as it its omnipresently played on the radio and promoed on greatest ever driving music comps...yawn yawn yawn..

"In July 2007, Chrysalis Radio was sold to Global Radio for £170m, leaving Chrysalis as a focused music business. Chrysalis now operates a successful international music publishing operation, the Echo Label, an 'incubator' record label for artists signed to our music publishing division and Lasgo Chrysalis, an international wholesale distribution business. We have a wealth of extremely talented staff across all the areas in which we operate and are in an excellent position to build long-term value for all shareholders.

Chrysalis now operates a focused, independent music company, in the areas of music publishing, music recording, artist management and entertainment product distribution. Our strategy is to continue to strengthen our creatively-led, independent music offering in order that we can provide a compelling home to artists world-wide and build long-term value for all shareholders."

Well not really in financial difficulty as Echo is not really the small indie label everyone thinks it is...more like Chrysalis Group can see a dying sector and want to get out of that side of the music business and just focus on publishing as they know thats the part of the business thats not in as much terminal decline as the record making side...

btw the Chrysalis address is:

Chrysalis Group plc

The Chrysalis Building

Bramley Road

London W10 6SP

(Chris Wright - Chairman)
