Posted July 31, 200816 yr Let's keep this light-hearted please! :P Here's mine anyway 1. Chelsea 2. Man Utd 3. Liverpool 4. Arsenal 5. Man City 6. Tottenham 7. Portsmouth 8. Aston Villa 9. West Ham 10. Everton 11. Newcastle 12. Middlesbrough 13. Fulham 14. Sunderland 15. Blackburn 16. Wigan 17. West Brom 18. Bolton 19. Hull City 20. Stoke Looking at it, on paper I think this season could be really interesting. From 8-18 it's really quite open in my opinion, Sunderland have both made some good signings (if not a bit over-priced) and if the players fit in, I think both clubs could maybe challange for the top half, depending on injuries. I still think WBA are the only club with a chance of surviving the drop too.
July 31, 200816 yr I can't see past Chelsea for the title this year, last year they finished two points behind despite Cech, Carvalho, Terry, Lampard, Ballack, Essien, Kalou and Drogba all spending lengthy periods out. This year they've got a decent right-back which was their weak position and a manager who seems to want to play differently, more to their players strengths whereas it looks like Man Utd's major signing will be someone they've already got. Relegation is so hard this year I think now. I did think Fulham and Bolton would be in contention with the three promoted clubs however they've both spent a lot and bought fairly well. I think Newcastle, Boro and Blackburn might be watching over their necks this season. Can't see it being Everton and Villa being the two nearest the big 4 either unless they invest a lot. 1 Chelsea 2 Man Utd 3 Liverpool 4 Arsenal 5 Portsmouth 6 Spurs 7 Man City 8 Wigan (bit of a gamble but i really think they might. they looked very good once steve bruce had settled in properly - hard to play against and few conceded. made some shrewd signings too) 9 Everton 10 Sunderland 11 Villa 12 West Ham 13 Bolton 14 Newcastle 15 Fulham 16 Blackburn 17 Middlesbrough 18 West Brom 19 Hull 20 Stoke Edited July 31, 200816 yr by RabbitFurCoat

Stoke I see a relegation battle for Boro this season :drama: And the 'best team' outside the PL are going to struggle unless something develops soon in the transfer market. I can see Spurs pushing Arsenal, if Arsenal keep having to sell the big names. Everton and Pompey may be interchangable, and I think Roy Keane has got some rather good signings, and will outtrump the highly overrated Geordies.
July 31, 200816 yr Portsmouth are definitely the team to look out for this season, I really think they could take 4th ahead of the dippers, Redknapp is building a very good team there and Crouch and Defoe are going to score for fun. I wanted to put us higher and I think we will challenge for 3rd the following season but with up to 7 new first teamers being bought this summer it will take time for the squad to gel and get to know each other
July 31, 200816 yr I can see Spurs pushing Arsenal, if Arsenal keep having to sell the big names. But I can see Arsenal staying ahead of Tottenham if Berbatov follows Keane to Lancashire, though.
July 31, 200816 yr But I can see Arsenal staying ahead of Tottenham if Berbatov follows Keane to Lancashire, though. Berbatov and Keane while good are both replaceable, generally in the league those 2 got 13-15 goals each a season and now Bentley will likely get 8-10, Dos Santos and Modric and Arshavin will probably chip in with 8-10 each so if we sign a striker to get say 15 goals a season we will be a lot better off Our midfielders hardly scored any goals last season but in Bentley, Arshavin, Dos Santos and Modric we have midfielders who know where the net is

I wanted to put us higher and I think we will challenge for 3rd the following season but with up to 7 new first teamers being bought this summer it will take time for the squad to gel and get to know each other I think they're some way off from challenging the Top 4. Harry Kedknapp's put together a great squad, but they still have some really weak areas imo. I wouldn't be suprised if Kranjcar moves on either, as Harry needs to sell as they've spent a lot of money this summer. I'm expecting James to have a bad season this year too.

July 31, 200816 yr I put £25 on Darren Bent being top scorer in the Premiership at 80-1 after the Norwich game now he is 33-1, looking like a good investment
July 31, 200816 yr No offence Craig but you also said at the beginning of last season that Bent would score more than Rooney..
July 31, 200816 yr No offence Craig but you also said at the beginning of last season that Bent would score more than Rooney.. Can't compare the 2 situations though 1) Bent likes playing as a solo striker, thats how he gets all his goals, he also scores most of his goals with his head Ramos is planning to play 4-2-3-1 this season so Bent will be first choice striker and have a system suited to him With Bentley and Bale on the wings we have 2 wingers who can get good crosses in 2) Bent had $h!t luck with injuries last season and got limited time because of Berbs/Keane
July 31, 200816 yr Author No chance of Bent being the top scorer Craig... sorry, he's just not good enough. I am expecting Spurs to sign another striker... I'm really feeling sorry for Blackburn at the moment tbh, they're about to buy Pennant for £5m, and having watched him a lot he's really not up to playing football at a high level. Has one of the worst footballing brains i've ever seen. And as much as I like Ince... he's raving about a player he's just signed on loan who looks good on YouTube. Never trust YouTube for football highlights.

I think Bent if he stays fit and is the lead striker next season will get 25-30 goals in all competitions, I also have a bet on Defoe too as I think he will score for fun with Crouch there to knock balls on for him I would be happy with Bent as first choice, of course I would be overjoyed if we signed Villa or Eto'o but would be happy with Bent as sole striker next season
July 31, 200816 yr Think i'll be pretty much sticking with what I got from the Predictor a few weeks back tbh ^_^
July 31, 200816 yr Ince was a ridiculous choice for the job, the most success he's had is bring an ex Wimbledon side back to the third tier on a rebound. His signings/rumoured signings so far have been baffling and he's having a hell of hard time trying to keep the core of the club together (Friedel, Bentley, McCarthy). Blackburn will implode on themselves this season which is a shame because I really do like the club. I can see the fans calling for Ince to be sacked by Christmas..
