My odds started out decent, but they seem to get worse every time, so much now that I'm bottom 3. :o Awful. :(

How do peoples' odds go DOWN after they make the final. That doesn't make sense. They have more chance of winning now as there is less songs LOL

some odds go down as not everyone can win...some odds have to be longer so that punters can get more back for their money...

 

you can't have every song at 3/1 - 10/1 or nobody would ever put any money on anything...

 

these are odds to WIN, I'm not saying Lucie Silvas will come last, just that she's the least likely to win...she'll probably get loads of 1's-5's but that's never going to help her win

 

whereas someone like Bjork will be a love/hate track, probably get a few 12's and lots of 0's, but say Bjork got 4 12's, 3 8's and nothing else

 

she would have 72 points overall, compared to 12 4's for example for Lucie Silvas, giving her 48 points overall...so Bjork may get points from less countries, but the likelihood of her acutally WINNING the contest are higher

My odds started out decent, but they seem to get worse every time, so much now that I'm bottom 3. :o Awful. :(

 

it's just my opinion of how others might perceive the track...as I said, I listened to it 4 times and didn't find it very instant...most people will probably only listen to them once or twice, therefore the instant tracks like Pink/Margaret Berger have the best odds

 

these odds don't reflect my personal opinions, as I often like songs that take longer to grow on me...these odds are formed by a mixture of what has done well in the past and a number of other factors such as cheapness of entry, catchiness of song, existing popularity of artist on Buzzjack etc...

he means, because Pink, Margaret Berger, Helena Paparizou all sailed easily into the final, they have the highest odds...whereas if by some shock those three songs had all missed out and instead Thomas Godoj, Tarkan and Fem@il had gone to the final, other countries would have shorter odds because there would be much more chance of them winning if those songs were their competition

What I mean is like before the final some countries have odds of lets say 50-1 and then after they've made it to the final they're at 125-1 or whatever, when surely they have more chance now than they did before.

exactly, as Pink got through, its likely that she sailed through, although its not certain

 

whereas had Canned Heat got through, we'd have to assume that they had squeezed through...

 

there's an obvious answer to some songs having longer odds now than before...I've actually heard all of the songs now, whereas when I made my first odds I'd heard hardly any of them, and it was based purely on fanbases etc...
