Posted August 7, 200816 yr There's a new boyband in town Friday, August 1 2008, 18:16 BST By Nick Levine, Music Editor Don't worry - it's not Billiam. We're actually talking about Avenue, the group who were chucked off The X Factor a couple of years ago because they already had a management deal. By all accounts it's been rockier than Brighton beach for the boys since then, but everything seems to have come good in the end: they're signed to a major label, they've collaborated with Anders SG from Alphabeat and Jason Pebworth from Orson on their debut album, and their first single comes out next month. http://images.digitalspy.co.uk/08/31/200x150_avenue_1.jpg It remains to be seen whether the music-buying public really wants a new boyband, but 'Last Goodbye' is actually pretty good: a bit dancey, really quite catchy, in no way drippy. The Avenue boys have decent voices too, as we found out at their champagne-lubricated showcase in central London last night. And Avenue will take encouragement from the success of The Saturdays - a similarly "old-fashioned" pop group in many ways - whose debut single is poised to crack the top ten on Sunday. Anyway, you can decide for yourselves whether Avenue are any good or not - the 'Last Goodbye' video appears for your viewing pleasure below: _oxm-MsD9xo I dont know what it is about this song but its seriously addictive! :arrr: What are your opinions? August 8, 200816 yr Author Were they on the x factor 2 years ago but got taken off the competition? Are you talking about... Eton Road?? :heehee:
August 9, 200816 yr OMG that somebody else started a thread on them! I was toying with the idea  Since hearing this through a friend I have become addicted to it even though boyband cheese such as this isn't really my sort of thing. I'm positive it will flop though but hey.
August 9, 200816 yr I don't think that will flop. It is summer, Ibiza holliday and beatch parties, so it can go well with it. I kinda like it to dance, but it is nothing I will buy because I know: in 3 weeks it will be boring  . But the video - i hate it. It kills the energy <_< . That kind of video can be used from somebody already famous, but they needed something sparky.
August 10, 200816 yr Dont care about the song More importantly, they all look gorgeous. Edited August 10, 200816 yr by The 411.
August 11, 200816 yr This song is actually good and has the potential to be a fair sized hit IF they get radio airplay. There seems to be some discrimination amongst radio programmers (especially Radio One) against good looking British male singers or boybands. But if The Saturdays can get lots of radio play for their single I think Avenue should too - both songs are good, well produced pop.
August 13, 200816 yr ^^ IMO though Last Goodbye >>>> If This Is Love I think I might be starting to agree with you on that
August 14, 200816 yr Author Anyone think they like Thorpe Park? http://www.popjustice.com/images/stories/a/avenuedates.jpg
