Seriously someone needs to start a petition to scrap this single and make whatever is planned for 2nd release to be put first.

i actually think it's OK. Not brilliant, but ok. I bet it will grow on many people and then most of you will end up loving it.

I'm very disappointed. I remember this time last year when 'About You Now' had leaked and I was completly blown away and that was followed with yet another incredible album making it 5/5 for the babes, but this I can't even see myself growing to like it asa I despise the advert and this is just awful. It hands down beats 'Follow Me Home' and 'Shape' as the worst track they have ever released and if this is the best they can do for a lead single then god help the rest of the album.

 

Looks like it's been rushed far too quickly - they should;'ve waited instead of trying to cash in on the Christmas market like everybody else does. :rolleyes:

 

I can see it doing well but I doubt a #1 and no way will it sell as well as their previous lead singles.

I've just listened to it again in the hope that i missjudged the first listen :no: OMG i'm praying they don't release this as a lead single. I'm a huge fan of the Babes so i'll get the album regardless, but it's still an awful song and nothing compared to Freak like Me or About You Now. Even Shape and Change were better then this cobbled together pile of poo!

 

Sugababes used to have something about them which made them stand apart from other girl groups and it lasted right up until just before Mutya left. Thankfully I did love About You Now (one of my all time Suga faves) but the majority of Change didn't have a patch on Taller in More Ways/Three and especially Angels with Dirty Faces :no:. This 'Girls' could have been sung by any Tom, Dick and Harriet and quite frankly three years ago this wouldn't have been fit for a Babes b-side. They should have waited a bit longer instead of rushing this out.

I have not heard it, but hell, reading this topic makes me thing the reception is overwhelmingly bad. Sugababes were never huge at all. They´re not the type of act who can sell nice amounts just on fanbase. Considering their last era wasn´t that big, then this might become the final backlash of their career.

Yes they have been and still are, what last girl band can you name that have managed to released 6 studio albums. :o Every artist had a bad patch, I assumed for Sugababes it was towards the end of the Change era but I have to say its most likely gonna be this era.

I have to say I think claiming Sugababes were 'never huge' is rubbish as well. They've had three albums sell close to a million, that's quite huge to me.

Awful track, the chorus is just annoying and horrible, it just sounds like a noise after the first minute.

 

They have given the critics what they wanted - a track that sounds last minute and rushed that they had to use a sample as they didnt have time to write a good enough chorus (obviously thats not true but this is just giving them the opportunity).

 

Having said that, the SOUND is better and i'm glad its upbeat, there is potential for some good tracks on the album. This is awful though and alienates a lot of their casual fans, i can't see may straight men singing along to "here come the girls".

I keep listening to the track, trying to "make" myself love it but I can't. It's simply the worst thing they have done for a lead single.

They need to replace the chorus, i may then forgive them.

 

As it is now, just terrible, and i dont think the remix improves it either.
