Speed cameras should be banned, they should install speed humps outside schools to slow cars etc but it is ridiculous to penalise drivers doing a couple of miles over the speed limit on motorways, A/B roads and so on it is nothing more than a stealth tax nothing to do with safety

Speed cameras CAUSE accidents, there has been times where I have had to slam on the brakes as a speed camera has appeared out of nowhere and I have seen other drivers do the same so a car that is quite close behind is going to not have time to stop in time and then also with speed cameras drivers more than often divert their concentration to looking out for the speed camera and where it is as opposed to watching the cars on the road ahead so speed cameras do more harm than good

interesting article on our local tv prog last night

speed cameras have cut accidents by 50% since they were introduced. they are placed at known accident blackspots where fatalities previously occured.

that is totally oposite to what the 'antis' claim! i wonder why... lol.

Well in Fife the accident blackspots NEVER have cameras, but the places where they can make the most money do -_-

lol.. then id suggest they take the lead from the derby police as they obviously place their cameras in sensible places!

That makes sense but i doubt Fife Council would let them.

Fife Council is the kind of council that would cut its nose off to spite it's face
