Posted August 17, 200816 yr I predict X Factor began with 8.8m viewers , What does the rest of the fourm think ?
August 17, 200816 yr The start of the new series of The X Factor pulled in an average of 10.2 million viewers on Saturday night. At its peak, the show was watched by more than 11 million people, capturing half the total television audience. The first episode of last year's series drew 9.5 million viewers, with the finale - which saw Leon Jackson win - gaining an audience of 12 million. The new series saw the debut of new judge, Girls Aloud singer Cheryl Cole, who has replaced Sharon Osbourne. Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh and Dannii Minogue remain on the panel. Varied auditions In an interview with the Radio Times earlier this month, Minogue revealed that she had a difficult relationship with Osbourne, who quit after four years on the show. "We weren't friends," said Minogue, "We weren't always fighting, but Sharon made it clear that she didn't like me, so she won't be missed. Not by me." Simon Cowell Simon Cowell was scathing about some hopefuls She added that the new line-up "works brilliantly", and played down suggestions that there would be friction between her and Cole. In the opening show of the talent search show, Cole was seen leaving the set when a friend from Popstars: The Rivals auditioned, saying it would be "biased" and "weird". Cole was a contestant on the show in 2002 and was chosen to become a member of Girls Aloud. The show contained a series of auditions of varying quality, with duo Dreamtime branded "one of the worst acts I've had on this show" by Cowell. A peak of 11 million, nice.
August 17, 200816 yr Wow that's huge for a season debut, even by X Factor standards! I bet Cowell's happy.
August 17, 200816 yr 10.2 million? This is an amazing start!! So many people whatching Cheryl
August 18, 200816 yr The X Factor actually got a peak of 12.1m at 20:25, which was 53.6% of the audience. :o
August 18, 200816 yr Wow, That's huge. I'm going to change this thread into the X-Factor Ratings thread where people can post the ratings each week.
August 18, 200816 yr The X Factor actually got a peak of 12.1m at 20:25, which was 53.6% of the audience. :o 20:25? It was Nikk audition with Cheryl's tears, wasn't it?
August 18, 200816 yr 20:25? It was Nikk audition with Cheryl's tears, wasn't it? Yeah but i don't see how a "good" point of a show would increase ratings. If the peak was 2 million above the average then i assume the low was about 8.5m, so there's a big difference. Edited August 18, 200816 yr by Harve

August 20, 200816 yr And these are only the auditions. What do you think when the live shows start. It'll drop I reckon by a bit.
August 20, 200816 yr When it's up against SCD it's bound to drop slightly, but I can see the ratings holding up above 8m for the entire series anyway.
