im sure if they were number 1 for 10 weeks and sold over a million copies it still wouldn't be good enough for you......you just need to accept theyre doing well at the moment and deal with it

so others can repetedly 'call' us?.. when we reply in kind WE are in the wrong?... payton davis's post was wrong, it was inflamitory, it was crediting me with things i did not say, i think refering to him as a 'pillock' was light, and not as 'harsh' as him telling me to p off! ...

Spot on mate... It's really pathetic the double standards that certain people on this thread seem to have.... They cant debate properly half the time, then when they spout a load of blatant sh!te and we call them on it, they get all precious about it....

As Jonesy from "Dad's Army" use to say - "They do not like it up 'em...."

I think Grandwicky put it incredibly well with his post on the Features Request Forum.....

Can't people just give them a chance! Ok, if you think they won't last longer than 1 album then that's fair enough. Just say it  They have only had 2 singles so far and we don't even know how well their album has done yet coz it hasn't been released. Can't we just wait to see how that performs and actually give them a chance? You might think you know one thing, but if the album performs quite well, then they have a chance of becoming one of the most loved Girl bands.

Atomic Kitten for example, they didn't make an impact at all until Whole Again and that was their FIFTH single. Girls Aloud already had a fanbase as they were made on a TV Show. The Sugababes, they weren't this popular when they started out. The Saturdays are starting out fresh and new and it's obvious they're going to be compared to Spice Girls, Girls Aloud & Sugababes. Yes Spice Girls became well known from their first single etc... but that was back in the 90's, times changed.

Can't you just wait and see what the future holds for them

that simply isnt true.... for eg i changed my mind over girls aloud who have lasted against many expectations. the facts are the facts and if they got to #1 for ten weeks (pmsl) then of COURSE they would be popular! you 'fans' are the ones who need a reality check, they are doing 'average-poor' considering all the hype they have had thrown at them over the last 6 months.

very few people who arnt 'fans' believe they will be around for long.

a fair comment in a fair post (which makes a change :) )

give them a chance?.. well theyve got one! if they produce something i like then ill say so. again i cite girls aloud whom i didnt rate but i changed my mind as the facts are that their output was quality pop. we have a go at the saturdays because theyve been hyped as 'the next big thing', a claim that us older buggers have heard so many times before. now IF the saturdays had some material worthy of this claim, we would accept it. but from when im sitting, the 'next big thing' claim is bull$h!t! their material to date is weak. ok, some will like it, but hell...even the crazy fukkin frog sold units!!! doesnt make it right or'good'.

Your obsession with saturdays gets a bit weird tbh. We get it you don't like them, so why the hell spend your day talking about something you don't like? I know technically its not against the rules, but it screams sadcase to be honest.

Oh yes, I keep on forgetting ALL posts should be positive... ALL posts should be smiley happy, ALL posts should uniformly bum and be in love with a band, group, TV show, Film... Yeah, Buzzjack should be all one big Hippie Love-In where everything is "groovy man"......PMSL.....

they have stated in interviews theyre aiming for top 10 with this single so to be close to the top 3 is not average-poor at all  and i dont need a reality check thanks quite frankly ive liked both there singles but im not ALL that bothered what happens if theyre here in a few years then they would have earnt it and you cant really predict much now when they havent even released an album yet but theyre definitely not doing to bad with there singles so far.

nothing wierd about an ongoing debate and countering the bull$h!t surrounding these pop puppets, its the kind of music that adds nothing to the music business at all. however, this aint a thread to debate me or anyone else, but the saturdays :P

you fans are BLIND to the fact that this group is treated with contempt as they appear to be 'yet another bland girlgroup' by the public... the very ones they NEED to 'get onboard' if they are going to make it big. so again you are WRONG

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this the very same public that have got them into the top 3 on iTunes?

If they're willing to spend money on a track from them, I'd say they were "onboard'.

get this.... the MAJORITY of the record buying public do not like manufactured bimbo pop

And you've spoken to the majority have you? Bullsh!t.

Take a look at the top 5 from todays midweeks and pick out the pop artists:

P!nk

Leon Jackson

The Saturdays

Sugababes

I'd say they quite like pop?

How idiotic to claim that the majority of the record buying public don't like manufactured pop when Katy Perry was number one for weeks on end, Rihanna's always charting within the top 3 with her singles, and her album is one of the biggest sellers this year, and there's a pop track currently sitting at number one.

Grimly is younger than me, so I don't think I could class him as an "older bugger".

And I'll say it again, because you keep mentioning that only some like it... you don't get top 3 on iTunes with only SOME people liking it.

Quite a fair few have to like it for it to get that high.

i dont agree, 'aiming for top ten' (which is pretty much a certainty) in this day and age is a very low target. they have had a huge amount of promotional work and hype invested in them over the last 6 months or so. they have toured with girls aloud, been on tv, radio 1 playlists, mtv regularly, ... with THAT amount of exposure they should be aiming for #1 !

itil charted and dropped, ala mcfly stylee, as ive already mentioned, theres records in the top ten now that entered the chart the same time as itil.. THAT makes itil very very average/poor. i expect 'up' will do the same thing, chart high (top 5) then within 3 weeks be down to the low teens whilst other tracks are still up there. so against the hype/promo, against the other tracks lasting longer, then the saturdays are a poor investment and are distinctly average/poor.

of course in the future they might get given better material and like you rightly point out MIGHT become big.. but atm we can only go on what has so farbeen produced, and that is very very average.

IS HE?..... :o thought you was 20?...

...but thats only i tunes customers, many of us dont use i tunes, yes its selling well atm, but its the result of weeks of promo. if it charts high and remains in the top ten for several weeks then ill conceed its more popular then i currently perceive... tbh i dont care!

id suggest most strongly that the majority of the record buying public DONT BUY SINGLES :)

they buy ALBUMS :)

But we're on the subject of their single.

And the argument stands for albums too.

Will Young and Boyzone are both manufactured and they're top 5 with their albums too.

Take That will sell massively too and they're pop.

now you are being stupid again... <_< and claim to be older then grimly?

And now I'm claiming I am not.

My mistake!

I'm not 37 B)

Then p!ss off if you don't care.

JESUS!!! Are you really older than me, you're kidding right.....? The level of immaturity and petulance in this post marks you out as being even younger than Jark, and he's 17.....

If you aint gonna debate a point intelligently, then perhaps, you should be the one to "go forth and urinate..."

My point was that if he really doesn't care, why is he spending so much time arguing against them?

I'm pretty sure that's called caring.
