At the start of the video frankie's hair looks bad, but from the middle onwards, it looks quite cool, and suits her face shape/ skin colour.

I've just been talking to Una over on the forums and when I asked her about CD formats, she said the B-side is called "Crashing Down" - and that's all she could say!

The bit where it has the fast edit and Vanessa's glasses change colour is my fave scene in the vid :wub: LOL.

My fave has to be when Una picks the mics!!

It's now been added to the Box and usually new stuff would have a 'New Stuff' icon in the bottom right hand corner but 'Up' has a 'Big At Box HQ'. So expect them to be in the Box Breakers chart sometime today or tomorrow ^_^

Anyway im truely in love with Up now, it is far better than If This Is Love or any of the other songs i've heard and does deserve to be big.

My favourite part of the vid is when Vanessa drops the glove, the look on her face when she looks at the camera makes me laugh lol.

It doesnt come close to those videos but the song doesnt come close neither.

How are they supposed to be successful with such lacklustre attempts.

The song is good but its not going to get them noticed.

the vid is everything and p*** poor vids have had a seriously detrimental effect on tracks...

 

the one that springs to mind was (before you kids were born :P) paul mc cartney and michael jacksons 'say say say' , the vid came out after the track was in the chart, its upward rise in the charts was suddenly stopped abruptly and it then sank.

I liked ITIL, but I love this! :D

The more i listen to this, the more i think its one of the best pop tracks this year. If this doesnt chart higher than a certain girlbands lacklustre attempt of a new single then what a shame and crime it shall be.

Unfortunetly i think Girls will probably do better than Up. Which is a shame considering how average Girls is compared to other Sugababes songs.

True, but some songs do well even with a crappy video. Girls Aloud's career is a good example lol. Especially Something Kinda Oooh. ITIL was pretty much set to fail from the get go. But I can see Up doing well. I just hope they dont eff up their promo.

The song is certainly much better than 'If This Is Love', but then that wasn't hard. 'Up!' still repeats some of ITIL's mistakes though i.e. it suffers from chronic chorus malfunction after quite confident verses. As far as I see it ITIL only went top 10 because it was pushed so hard and everywhere (hence the sliding now).

 

The video though is atrocious, yes in an obvious way i.e. the tacky outfits/coloured tights etc but also the editing; It's absolutely wretched. 00:50-00:55 is just bizarre. It's a sea of feet and heads. Furthermore, the opening of the jacket by the trendy girl, repeated in clumsy fashion; ick. Bad editing is unnecessary and upsets me. IT REALLY DOES.

 

It'll be interesting if such a soulless and dull girl group will be able to do well with a semi-good song.

I actually might buy this album now. I wasn't pushed with ITIL but Up! has made me change my mind about them and is an amazing track, as great as Girls Aloud material even (coming from a HUGE GA fan).

 

I think Up! will make a bigger dent on the chart than ITIL.

Soulless and dull? :( A little harsh lol. Opinions and preferences all that, but I think they're brimming with personality. At least all five girls have showed they are a laugh and decent enough characters, unlike another famous five-piece who sport at least two real b!tches in their line-up.
