Saturdays song used in US 'Ugly Betty' trailer

The new single from British girl group The Saturdays has been used in a US TV trailer for Ugly Betty.

 

'Up' - to be released in the UK on October 13 - can be heard on a 40-second ABC promo for the popular comedy series.

 

Group member Vanessa White said she is "honoured" that 'Up' was chosen for the trailer, adding: "I still can't believe it! I keep asking [my bandmate]Una to pinch me but sometimes she pinches a little hard!

 

"No, seriously, this is such a big deal to us all and we hope America likes what they hear!"

 

'Up' is the follow-up to The Saturdays' debut single, 'If This Is Love', which made the top ten in August.

I think Up fits really well in the current US music climate, with the whole electro-pop vibe.

Given that, I think it would do no harm to put the song on US iTunes or something.

 

Is that Ugly Betty trailer going to be shown in the UK too? If so that could help here too.

I suppose if they can get at least a few thousand sales out of it, it'll be beneficial.

Up has grown on me leaps and bounds in the last week or two :o I'm now really looking forward to their album

I wouldn't call it really amazing, but it's definitely really good. GREAT verses with a decent chorus. Would be a good album track.
