After hearing most of the album on youtube, i cant help but feel disapointed, the stripped back version of issues and chasing lights they prreformed at mtv are a milliontimes better than what has been put on the album. Also can't help but feel the whole album has a tinny sound to it, and has become the vanessa show. On the MTV acoustic version of Chasing Lights the vocals were all shared out, yet on the version on the album it is all vanessa, and her voice is even louder than the others on the chorus. I really don't like what they did with Issues either. I can't help but feel let down with what i have heard to be honnest.

The tinny sound is just because it's been ripped from the Channel 4 listening party.

The whole album "leak" is a web-rip, they're not full HQ yet.

Very strong debut album, really like it. ^_^ Love every track, the only track I don't like is Vunerable. Love Chasing Lights and Fall :wub: As well as the ones we already heard. Really love it :D

The vocals were dire on that live version of 'Chasing Lights'. Thankfully the album version is miles better.

I'm shocked no one has mentioned but Up has slipped just 1 place! Pretty good by the looks of things, and Leon has slipped past them

it really ISNT 'amazing'... its NORMAL. i would be 'amazed' if it didnt spend a second week in the top ten, and possibly a third, but that depends upon what else is being released.

 

the only thing i look like might have misjudged is leons success... i thought he would last longer in the top 40 then the sats... hey ho... its c**p anyway so it doesnt bother me.

Yes, unless you failed to see the doubt people cast over the success of 'Up' about a week before the release. It is amazing for a new band IMO, esp. when lots of people had written them off.

did they?... not on here, whilst ive been very critical of the saturdays (or in truth more towards the hype) i didnt think that 'up' wouldnt hit the top ten, at least for 2 weeks. i doubted, and still do, that itll stay top ten for a lengthy 'rihanna' type run like pink, kol, are doing. 2 weeks deffo, 3 weeks... just about... 4 weeks NO.

 

their popularity does appear to be gaining, and like i indicated previously may gain fans of the sugababes and ga if they 'take a break' or whatever. but they do need better material.

we will just have to wait and see how many units it shifts, itll be a hit, top ten... maybe top 5...

Those three comments were made around 8th-12th Oct, by three different people one including yourself.

I really do think its come as a shock that it will spend its 2nd week in the top 10 after a top 5 debut and selling 26k in its first week.

On the whole, a brilliant album i think, of course Vanessa has quite a lot of the vocals and perhaps that is a bit unfair. The first half is definatly the strongest i think.

I highly doubt they'd release another single only 4/5 weeks later. I think people have heard that the next single is 'Work' and assumed that they're still doing CIN so they put it on Wikipedia.
