As the deadline is not until September 7th, Nonsuch will hang fire in case a great new song comes along, or the one remaining song it wants to use is unreserved.

 

Otherwise it will enter an "Oldie but Goldie" from earlier this decade that somehow failed to reach the UK Top 75 but made #2 in Australia.

now this has intrigued me! was it released in the UK at all? is it by an Australian artist?

 

a great song that should have been a hit in the UK and released in place of Please Stay was Your Disco Needs You by Kylie Minogue, now that would make a fantastic BJSC entry and be a guaranteed top 5 for anyone I think :heart:

'Back Down' is one of my favourites from 'Change', but I guess I'm in the minority as usual. :lol:

The thing with people suggesting good songs is that it no longer makes them a good entry. If I was to go for 'Your Disco Needs You' now everyone would think it's cheap because it's something you said would finish in the top 5 - not that I'd go for any Kylie song. She's just one of the taboo artists for me along with Britney and Rihanna. I like all three of them but practically any song by them is a bit lazy because they're all so popular on Buzzjack that they'll sail through.

I'm not really good at finding artists people haven't heard of, so far all of my entries have been album tracks from albums I'm into at the time. 'Black Butta' just happened to be a live performance and 'No Substitute Love' was a single sooner than I was expecting. -_- I'm not having that much luck this time. I was thinking about a Solange song that I think is really good but it's 6 minutes long so I think I'll have to find something more suitable.

I used non-Scandinavians in BJSC's 1, 2, 4 and 6...and won with one in BJSC4 :kink: I just think they are great sources of unheard pop music :wub: it's not that hard to find unheard pop music, just go onto iTunes and have a browse through other countries top 100 charts, and you'll uncover loads of great songs! Where do you think I find half of the obscure stuff in my personal chart :o

Flopping is usual stuff for me. I have a 50% record Win/Big Flop/Moderate Flop/Moderate Success. I make that time for a Big Success, I just need a song. :lol:

 

Oh I know you haven't always gone for Scandinavians but they were mostly before I appeared. :lol: I forgot Untouched were British actually so I take back my comment...sort of. :P

 

I've never thought of looking at the iTunes charts of other countries actually. :thinking: I'm always worried about using unknowns though, you never know how they'll go down.
