I think I may have found my artist then. I was thinking about 'Jimmy', '20 Dollar' or 'Boyz' after my first listen of 'Kala'. I quite like 'XR2' as well but I don't think that would do as well. :thinking: I haven't heard '10 Dollar', I only heard 'Kala' last night so I haven't checked out 'Arular' yet.

 

I hate her album 'Kala' :( Paper Planes is the only song has impressed me really :o And i agree that Quotosibb's entries are always of high-standard :D

I find that surprising as Santogold has been compared to M.I.A. and I know that you like a bit of Santogold. :P If my entries are always high standard, why do I flop so often? :drama:

 

I swear you aren't a fan of Leona, didn't you hate 'Better In Time'? :unsure: I wouldn't go for a Leona song anyway there's about 4 songs of hers that wouldn't be cheap - the two B-Sides and the USA tracks. Then again, I was considering the charity single, so I can't talk about cheap. :lol:

 

EDIT: Quotosibb would like to reserve M.I.A. then, just in case people start getting ideas. :lol:

i am normally so decisive over my entry, but i have like actually lost 'it' and just can't seem to pick the right song.

 

I can't pick a ballad, coz they don't do well. I don't want to pick a single (Again) and i'd quite like to use a live performance, but thats only coz i want to flaunt how much better the babes are live than GA (Vocals wise, naturally).

I adore M.I.A., any song from her would get high points from me (though I've said that so many times I don't even know anymore X_X - but MIA is up there, trust me). I would actually go with something from Arular though as it's a lot more commercial imo. Perhaps Galang, Pull Up the People, or Bucky Done Gun.

I can imagine how annoying that would be, especially if you are downloading the videos as people confirm them. I don't think anyone changed their entry when I was the host but I think it would have slightly bugged me if they changed their entry after I had ripped the audio from the video already - even though it takes only two minutes.

 

This is why I avoid confirming my song early, I would have probably confirmed 'Cosmic Journey' a few days ago and now I'm thinking that M.I.A. might be the better choice but I wouldn't want to change my entry after already confirming.

I still need to find a link for 'Arular', you aren't the first to tell me to check out that album instead of 'Kala' if I'm thinking of BJSC entries so it's probably worth a listen. :thinking:

 

I'm not so sure on M.I.A. now. I haven't heard any of them but I'm guessing that PNAU, Imogen Heap, The Knife, Camille, Space Cowboy, Yelle, CSS and Sigur Ros are all quite 'obscure' entries and M.I.A. could be one too many to be a success this month. :unsure:

everytime i decide the doubts start, and then the next track on shuffel makes me think "this might be better...."

Surely no M.I.A. song is more commercial then 'Jimmy'?

 

'Kala' was my album of 2007, so it'd have to be a very bad choice to not get high points from me....

it is getting a bit ridiculous with all the changes this month...some people have changed their entry 3 or 4 times...:heehee:

 

When I hosted I downloaded all the videos when they were confirmed but people only changed their entries about 2 or 3 times in total across all participants, so it was hardly a problem...poor Brunoboi must be having to make separate Ashton and Kopecka folders to keep track of all of their entries :rofl:

 

I was never in any doubt that I wanted to use Headhunted this month, hence me confirming it straight away :D

Can the host implement rules? Once you've confirmed that's it could be a good one. I'd like to use it, though I doubt I'd ever get the chance...

Indeed I think I have some 50 songs downloaded now :wacko: jolly confuffling but i think it's due to me now having a regular confirmation thread ahead of an official one as we have done in previous months.

 

With regards to rules - Ideally I would place strict rules against odds threads being opened ahead of the final confirmation as unfortunately people take them far too seriously -_-

I opened it immediately as I had four requests even before the final result had been announced in BJSC 9 for it to be opened immediately - Perhaps some Ashton style dictatorship could have said 'no' but unfortunately it is not a word I like to use that often :lol:

I've been leaning towards 'Jimmy' but I know Gary and possibly Ryan have considered using it in the past so I'm not sure if I want to pick up their leftovers...so to speak. It probably is the best choice though, having listened to both albums now. If not 'Jimmy' it will probably be '20 Dollar', 'Boyz', '10 Dollar' or 'Galang'. So many to choose from, I don't know what will do well and what wont.

Vulcanian officials have today announced that Idina Menzel and Kristen Chenoweth have double booked themselves and thus, will not be attending the BJSC X. However, they have given permission for their song to still be used and so it will instead be sung by Kerry Ellis:

I know this is a bit of a touchy subject at the moment so forgive me in advance, but brunoboi I posted this a couple of days ago and you haven't edited it into your first post. This is it for me now - tell me I can't change my mind again now because then I can just get on with my life without worrying that I'm sending the wrong choice :lol:
