August 25, 200816 yr I don't know - but in Germany, Music DVD's can get into their Top 100 Album Chart, if they sell enough copies. As can shorter Music DVD's get into their Singles Chart. ABBA had a No.31 short Music DVD - 'The Last Video' - in the German Singles Chart, in 2004. There seem to be no plans for The OCC to allow such things to happen in the UK Charts.....
August 25, 200816 yr It should, because no-one is going to buy a song-only copy if they already have the video, its exactly the same and you don't HAVE to watch the video to listen to the song.
August 26, 200816 yr You can as far as I'm aware you can get a video on a CD single or in a digital bundle. For the chart it's all about the actual single, they've always been seen as supplementary to the track, so I can't see video sales on their own counting anytime soon.
August 26, 200816 yr Also if videos counted towards the chart what’s stopping someone with a rubbish song producing a appealing mainstream soft porn video to get themselves into the chart solely based on that irrespective of the quality of the song?!

I agree with this but it sorta happens already anyway. Not naming any individuals of course.
