February 19, 200916 yr Author Kelly Clarkson is ready to make a splash on the mainstream charts again as she prepares to release her fourth studio album All I Ever Wanted, in stores March 10th in the U.S. As an agreement to release her previous deeply personal effort My December, Kelly is using her full throttle vocals against catchy hooks and teamed up with hit songwriters for the new record. Opening the record is her No. 1 hit "My Life Would Suck Without You." The track was written by Dr. Luke and Max Martin, the writers of her 2004 hit "Since U Been Gone." The song takes on a pop appeal with roaring vocals throughout the choruses. Describing a dysfunctional relationship, "Suck" tells a story of a commitment, being that her life would be miserable without that person. Somehow the relationship works. The track debuted at No. 97 on the Billboard Hot 100 and shot to No. 1 in a week, beating Britney Spears record for biggest jump and thus being the second time Clarkson beat the record. This is only the beginning of a new journey. "I Do Not Hook Up" was written by pop singer-songwriter Katy Perry and Kara Dioguardi (who is the newest addition to the Idol judge lineup). "Hook Up" is as infectious as "Suck" but with more attitude. "Sweetheart put the bottle down/ You've got too much talent/ I see you through those bloodshot eyes.." she sings before ripping into a chorus that says Hey I don't hook up with people, I prefer to get to know you and see where it goes. Though Clarkson didn't pen the track, she can certainly relate as her love life is quite dim and controlled (by choice of course! We love Kelly for her boy bashing songs!). Kelly Clarkson also teamed up with hit songwriter and OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder on a good portion of the record. "Save You" is a rhythmic ballad he presented to Kelly when she first began working on the record. "I wish I could save you/ I wish I could say to you/ I'm not going nowhere/ I wish I could say to you/ It's gonna be alright..." she sings. Tedder is just as passionate as Clarkson when it comes to various genres and writing. The pair collaborated on the other Tedder tracks, including "If I Can't Have You," "Already Gone" and "Impossible." Another track "Tip of My Tongue" on the deluxe edition is also a Ryan Tedder track cowritten with Kelly. The pop rock Grammy winner also paired up with Sam Watters and company to record several tracks including three on the standard edition of All I Ever Wanted. The deluxe version will include another song by Watters called "The Day We Fell Apart." The latter uses the newest wave of drum programming combined with Clarkson's immense vocals. Taking on a more aggressive version of "My Life Would Suck Without You," "The Day We Fell Apart" is about loving someone more when she broke up with them. "I must admit the grass looks so much greener on the other side/ Since you left I noticed now you're so much meaner/ And it's something I think I like," she fiercely puts out there. Last March, four alternative country-like demos surfaced of Clarkson's that she wrote with bandmate Aben Eubanks (who also has credit on four tracks from her last record). Of those demos that leaked, "Ready" has made the final cut with honest lyrics of wanting to get out. "Frozen, forgetful again/ The part where I lose my head/ The scene where I'm supposed to speak but instead/ I sit so patiently drenched in all of this *#+#/ I can't escape," she sings before going into a harmonic chorus of melody and a hope to be found. Clarkson's last record was written entirely with her band and this time only two songs are included. "Cry" is best described as a country-like waltz that she cowrote with her musical director of nearly seven years, Jason Halbert. The sound can be referenced to Patty Griffin or Ryan Adams as Clarkson states her love for these artists. Kelly Clarkson may have felt short last time around with her fate rested in the hands of evil label suites (more so Clive Davis whose reputation is notorious for quarreling with artists), but this time she's back with a vengeance, hot songs combined with soul penetrating lyrics and a sexy new look in which she states of her album cover "they photoshopped the crap out of me! I don't know who she is but she's hot!" The deluxe edition of All I Ever Wanted will include two bonus tracks, the making of the album, the making of the video for "My Life Would Suck Without You" and the video itself. The preorder o f the album on iTunes also includes another track entitled "Can We Go Back?" Kelly Clarkson's All I Ever Wanted is in stores March 10th in the United States.

February 20, 200916 yr Oh my christ. I never love clips but I LOVE these! Thoughts: Hook Up - They've perfected it! Sounds SO great now! Cry - A bit shouty Don't Let Me Stop You - Brilliant chorus! Sounds almost anthemic. Single potential! All I Ever Wanted - Sounds like it's building up to something but there's no climactic finish to the chorus... Already Gone - Sounds epic. That beat! If I Can't Have You - Dark and a bit angry. Love it! Save You - A little dull? Whyyawanna... - W.o.w! Punky! Long Shot - Warm-sounding, catchy, perhaps not ground-breaking. Impossible - I'll need to hear more of this. Doesn't sound anything special. Ready - Oooh, how fabulous! Simplistic. I Want You - 60s-sounding without being retro if that makes ANY sense. Sounds FUN. If No-One Will Listen - Obviously not an instant one. I knew she wouldn't let me down.
February 20, 200916 yr Incidentally on Hook Up, they've changed the chorus lyric from the demo - it's now 'keep your hand in my hand', whereas it was 'keep your thing in your pants' :heehee:

February 20, 200916 yr Incidentally on Hook Up, they've changed the chorus lyric from the demo - it's now 'keep your hand in my hand', whereas it was 'keep your thing in your pants' :heehee: I knew there was something different ! I never like clips either! But from these clips I cant even tell you how excited i am about hearing the rest of the album
February 20, 200916 yr 'I Do Not Hook Up' sounds like my favourite so far. Glad it's the second single. :D Miles better than Katy's version. 'Save You' sounds beautiful too. 'Whyyawannabringmedown' sounds horrible to me, definitely gonna be love or hate.
