I don't think it was as good as I was expecting, but it wasn't bad either.

It doesn't even build tension; it's just a waste of time. I have better things to do personally than pay about £20 in total at a cinema, to watch a film where f*** all happens. Period.

This must be the only film released in the last 5 years that is actually scary. I liked it, although there is no plot and the ending is pretty awful.

well its a good job that i left before the end - omg it bored me totally (and maybe liv tyler as well in part..would have been better having emma roberts in the part tbh, give it some life....tho i suppose its good to see in a film with liv tyler in it after such a long time* tho i guess post-motherhood and post-spacepig's Royston Vasey she'll be in loads now) ....parts of it were so totally obv as well (eg gunshot)...and tbh actually would have enjoyed it going to see disaster movie again and thats saying something!!!...perhaps a film that would be better enjoyed as a soundtrack album (that is if the songs from the film featured on the soundtrack and not just a lot of slipknot wannabes)

...now if there is a sequel lets hope it directed by Friedberg & Seltzer using Steve Tyler and the rolling stones as the strangers...might be intersting... tho obv the spacehog revival might be more sacry!!!

*didnt get to see hulk

Went to see this today... and i actually liked it. It was very gripping. But the thing that annoyed me was when Liv was whispering all the time when she didn't need too!
I was expecting better after seeing the trailers, it was ok though worth a watch

OMG i just watched this its awful worse flim ive ever seen! not scary at all and everythings just slow!
I'm talking like House of 1000 Corpses though - What other films do you know that are like that!? Because that film made me super happy lol (:.

Try any totally GONZOID Herschel Gordon Lewis film, "Wizard of Gore", "2000 Maniacs", "Colour Me Blood Red", "The Gore Gore Girls".... Has to be said, they are VERY much of their time (late 60s/early 70s) and pretty trashy and grotty-looking low-budget stuff, but the maker of "House of 1000 Corpses" (Rob Zombie) is blatantly a fan of Lewis and the other original "grindhouse" merchant Russ Meyer ("Faster Pussycat Kill Kill", "Valley of the Ultravixens" and others....).

Or else check out Mr Zombie's extremely fine sophomore effort "The Devil's Rejects" (which I consider his best work), using most of the same characters as in "House...", but a much darker, more edgy storyline, there's humour, but of an incredibly nervous, gallows variety....

Check out the sort of stuff that DVD label "Shameless" is putting out.. A lot of weird/nasty 70s Italian cult classics such as "Night Train Murders", "My Dear Killer", "Flavia The Heretic", "The Frightened Woman", "New York Ripper", "Strip Nude for Your Killer", "What Have They Done to Your Daughters", "Oasis of Fear", "The Designated Victim" and loads of other sleazy 70s horror titles.... Most of this lot you can get for about 6 quid off Amazon....

I finally saw this film last week and renting the dvd sure was waste of money. This so-called horror film had absolutely no tension, no nothing except two lead characters that are like the biggest morons I have seen for a quite some time in a horror film. The whole film was about these two idiots having to choose one choise over another and every single time they chose the wrong one. I mean we the audience are supposed to be rooting for these two characters and hoping them to survive and not actually wanting them to die for being such morons but all I was doing was rooting them to die and this dumbness to end. And the few plot twists that this movie had, had been already done about zillion times and even a blind person certainly saw those coming about a hour before those happened.

The only good thing in this film was the great advertising campaing that fooled people into movie theatres thinking about seeing a scary movie. And what the hell is with this based on/inspired by real events trend that that makes these movies look even more desparate. It seems that they already know they have absolutely no thrills in the film and try somohow with that gimmick to create "scary atmosphere".

Ive said before and ill say it again this movie relies on so much more than cheap gore.. Its very much like the old school type Horrors rather than the recent Hostel :puke:

Watched this last night, I thought it was really scary.

The bit that got me is when Liv first opened the curtains and the masked guy was standing there, I $h!tted myself. And also when that guy shot his friend and where she grabs the kid at the end...

I hope for the sequel, that they don't go down the obvious route of them killing another family/people in the house. I'd rather much see more about why they do it, or who that girl was in the beginning (asking who Gemma was). I think they'd make a better film that way.
