Actually, the biggest problem that bin Laden has said he has with America is the presence of their troops in Saudi Arabia, seeing it as essentially as the Catholics would see it if Al Qaeda set up bases in the Vatican City, hence why he's only been making attacks on America since the Gulf War...

Bin Laden is just a figurehead though, Al Qaeda is not one group it is a series of seperately controlled organisations that unite under the Al Qaeda umbrella, each group has its own agendas and its own command structure, Osama Bin Laden is merely the spiritual figurehead/leader, he personally had very little to do with 9/11 it was Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and Mohammed Atta who planned the whole thing so even if Osama hated America over the Gulf War that is his personal agenda other Al Qaeda structures hate America over different reasons

Oh no, Osama didn't hate America over the Gulf War, just over where their troops were stationed - he actually despised Saddam and supported the Gulf War (due to Saddam's secular rule and selfish reasons for the invasion of Kuwait), and indeed offered his support and troops to Saudi Arabia, but they got a better offer from the USA...and in any case, if it wasn't to do with the presence of American troops in the holy land (in fact, they probably wouldn't have minded so much if America had withdrawn after the Gulf War...), how do you explain the distinct lack of terrorist attacks by Islamic fundamentalists on American interests prior to the Gulf War?

So Palin thinks the War in Iraq is a "righteous cause". What more proof do you need that McCain & Palin are no different to Bush & Cheney?

If only people could open their eyes.

Tina Fey as Palin on a Saturday Night Live sketch from last night:

Aahaha! 'I don't know what that is' <3

Also the woman has a newborn baby with Down's Syndrome. Want to know why? Because she was 44 years old when she had the baby earlier this year. Studies have shown for DECADES that women who have babies post age 40 present HUGE risks of genetic disorders to their newborns. But, no doubt, Sarah Palin believes contraception is wrong. And God provides. Well great, now you've got a little boy with Down's Syndrome. Hope you're happy with yourself, Sarah.

Hmmm that was a bit dire, you sugest that children with Down´s Syndrome should be a source of unhappyness to their parents. Clearly you know nothing about life, and I´d rather have someone with Down´s Syndrome as the president of my country then someone with this lack of humanity...

Speaking of dire suggestions, you claim I know nothing about life?? What does that even mean?

I never, ever said that the child should be a source of unhappiness. I said that Sarah Palin had a child at 44 years old, 17 years after her last child. If she didn't intend to get pregnant, she doesn't believe in contraception so she had to carry the child. If it was intentional, then fine. But it is somewhat irresponsible for women to have children at older ages, because of the skyrocketing risk of genetic disorder. According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the risk of Down syndrome increases from about 1 in 1,250 at age 25, to 1 in 1,000 at age 30, 1 in 400 at age 35, 1 in 100 at age 40 and 1 in 30 at age 45.

If someone drank a pint of vodka everyday while pregnant and the child is born with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, and I suggested the mother had been irresponsible, would you then accuse me then of knowing "nothing about life?"

Well, then that must apply to ANY woman who got pregnant on her 40´s? Because it really looked like you were sugesting she was blamed for keeping the baby...

What is your source that Sarah Palin is actually against contraception and condoms? Sorry, but last time I checked she was member of an american organization that promotes contraception and family control (abortion not included, since it´s no contraception - contraception is anything that avois the conception to happen).

She is married since decades, so if she has *only* five children, I suppose she uses contraception - otherwise she would have had much more, considering she is married with her teenage school boyfriend, since ages...

I would not vote for McCain (if I was american) anyway, but using a baby with Down´s Syndrome as an argument is something really sick... I wonder if the liberal agenda would act the same if Obama had a Down kid. That´s really sickening.

I would never suggest she should have ABORTED the fetus.

The organization of which you speak, Feminists for Life, promotes family planning but not contraception. They, and Sarah Palin, are actively against teaching sex education or providing or informing teens of contraceptives. In the end, there is no way to know whether or not the woman uses/used contraceptives - although we certainly know her daughter didn't.

Sickening, you say? Well just a few days ago you lamented how you couldn't suggest pedophilia was more normal than homosexuality because everyone is so "PC." if you're so rational and not concerned with political correctness, how come you can't debate the ethical issues of choosing a risky pregnancy?

However, if her pregnancy was "acidental", then she had actually no choice - considering her and most of americans believe then there is no moral "choice" between keeping / aborting the baby. Hypocrite she would be if she aborted it, considered all she seems to stand for is against abortion. I still have seen no reliable source that Sarah is *against* the use of preservatives and contraception. All I see is distorted quotings from herself and the FFL organization... The fact that she doesn´t want 10 years old girls to be handled condoms and be taught to have free sex as they want hardly is a statement against the use of preservatives. But that is another issue... I´m not sayng I support her or McCain, but bashing the woman for having an exceptional kid is not nice.

Well I can't seem to find a direct quote either, she has said she believes life begins at the embryo to justify her anti-stem cells stance (hence contraception would be "murder") but she has never been on record as officially against contraception. And to confuse things, she belongs to the FFL which doesn't take a direct anti-contraceptive stance.

Yes, sex education is another issue entirely - though I'd caution you to avoid generalizations like "teaching 10 year olds to freely have sex." This is why right wingers always get it wrong. They think sex ed is some kind of perverse teenage orgy so they replace it with abstinence only education. And then their daughters keep getting pregnant at 17 and they wonder why... Sex ed discourages sex enough as it is. When I went through sex ed as a 12 year old, all the warnings of pregnancy, STDs and sexual crime were enough to scare me away. If you just tell kids "we won't tell you about the explicit details of sex but please just wait until marriage" of COURSE they're gonna want to do it!

Palin is OBVIOUSLY the answer to all social and financial issues. Her plethora of experience has Obama up in arms. And she obviously knows what's best for our military!

BRING ON WORLD WAR 3 YA'LL!

Yet another person that has not looked at what each candidate stands for. I would rather pay double the taxes I'm paying now and have equality socially and financially.

Yes. Obviously because i'm not another Obama sheep I have no idea what either candidate stands for.

What are you talking about? And how can you be a "sheep" of EITHER candidate when you don't live in America and your opinion won't amount to anything? I'm not saying you can't have an opinion, but how is calling me a "Obama sheep" helpng anything. Yes, I am voting for Obama because his social issues are more liberal then McCain's.

Is that a problem for you?

Just because I don't live in America doesn't mean i'm not allowed to have an opinion on the elction, especially considering the US president is in effect the most powerful man on earth.

No it isn't a problem for me, though me saying I prefer McCain obviously out some sort of "OMG WTF" out of you.. what's so wrong about prefering the Republican candidate? You implied that I didn't know what the candidates stood for, which I obviously do, otherwise I wouldn't have come to a rational conclusion. And I never called ~you~ a sheep, I was refering to the fact that many people are all "Omg OBamA is Lyk AMAze!1!!" when they obviously have no clue and are just saying it because a couple of celebrities have put their weight behind him.

So yeah ~

OH LOL. Sorry, I thought you were just calling me out for no reason.

I apologize for saying that, and being a bit pissy. I just don't see how people can want McCain and Palin to win when they are against so many social rights that should be legal. Obama has already said that he seesno reason in banning gay marriage when it should be a personal choice...even though he is still giving the States the right to choose. He also doesn't let his religion interfere with what he thinks, unlike McCain and Palin. I do agree with the Republican party when it comes to financial circumstances...but their military and soical stands are something I just can't live with.

And what does contraception has to do with abortion? Contraception, as the name speaks for itself, avoids the conception to happen. There is no embryo before the conception, just sperm... Acusing someone of being anti-contraception, just because she is anti-abortion, is not a honest argument...

I don't want to be stereotypical, but you do have to worry about a large portion of the American population when you see the Republicans' poll ratings (although Obama appears to be back in the lead now). Even ignoring their vile views, the Republican ticket consists of a 72-year-old with a history of cancer scares and who appears to be in the early stages of dementia, with a woman who was the mayor of a tiny Alaskan town two years ago and who had never been outside of the States until last year as his stand-in. It's pure insanity.

So yeah ~

Well I could never understand a british person wanting a Republican to win considering the Republicans are so right wing that even people who vote Tory over here usually prefer the Democrat candidate  Right now it's more about 'Pallin sheep' if any considering it's all 'ZOMG!!!!!!!!!! IT'S A WOMAN I'LL VOTE FOR THEM BECAUSE SHE'S A WOMAN LOLZ!11!11ELEVEN111!!' when in reality she's just a homophobe who has no idea what she's doing, basically look at Danny's post above me.

Very true. It's so ironic that the people who (incorrectly) accuse Obama supporters of supporting him just because he makes good speeches are the same ones who are so enthused about Palin just because she decently-delivered a speech written by someone else.
