Huge drop! such a shame, really was a TERRIBLE lead single choice especially when I would say theres at least 7/8 better songs!

It still sold over 10k this week surprisingly. Total to date 33,393. Album sales are getting big quickly now Christmas is getting closer...

Unbreakable Heart| 5/10 (the only thing that saves this song is the chorus)

'Every Heart Broken' is oh so similar to 'Change' (the song) I have come to think having given it a few listens. Such similar choruses. I don't think that it can turn the album around AT ALL.

 

What Island should do now is push 'No Can Do', it'll get small change spent on it. A few nice remixes. Top 20 for Christmas. Then EHB released late Feb/early Mar on download only and perhaps with no video. Then end this era and get them back in the studio, with perhaps a slightly more commercially-friendly sound...

I'm sorry but after your idea for No Can Do our ideas begin to differ greatly. :o EHB should not be download only - they have a small but decent fanbase who will ensure a few CDs are shifted, and half of that fanbase are old-school and don't download from iTunes - and it should have a video. With a video depicting the lyrics it would get a LOT of media attention, good and bad, which is exactly what they need, loads of coverage...

If they do realese EHB, they must do a video really. However i will kill their management if the video doesnt follow the song lyrics word by word.

I think you're being somewhat presumptious there i.e. their fans. Look at some of their lowly peaks in the past...

 

Also I was suggesting what Island will do with their Sugababes budget. A fair amount went on 'Girls' I'm sure and given CAS's sales thus far they'll be even more cautious. Add to that Island will be pushing quite a few of their new acts for the mainstream in the new year (VV and Frankmusik to name two), I think cash will be scarce for them...

When i saw the position i was dreading sales so pleasantly surprised with 10k. Wasn't that what you predicted Jark? that's two weeks in a row! Its not you buying all the copies is it? :lol:

 

Jake, i think half the problem is Island don't spend too much promoting them anyway as they see them as a safe bet nowadays. Mistake!

Why does everyone seem to be hatin' on this album? Are the lackluster sales making everyone doubt the beauty of this album? If it was selling great, I bet everyone would be saying how great "Girls" is and giving alot of praise to the album.

 

 

I have a question---is that one of the girls singing the parts that sounds like little girls on "Hangin on a Star" (the "tell me baby baby", etc. parts?)? Who is doing that? I don't recognize the voice. It sounds like kids.

What has the management to do with their flop ?

They have had a good promo schedule, and the single has done well on the single chart and great on the airplay chart.

the fact that they didn't promote the album enough maybe? Or couldn't be bothered to listen to HMV?

Probably its last week in the top 40 now unfortunetly. Such a shame, its a really great album except for Girls.
