:( Mehz. It sounds just like a Ciara/any other generic RnB track and with added crass/trite lyrics.

Oh what tosh. Every reviewer has singled it out as the highlight because it's a fusion of their early sound with the improved harmony of 3.0. It's a bloody masterpiece.

 

How could it be 'foul' also? :mellow: Whether you find it bland or amazing, how could you find it actually offensive?! Bloody OTT.

It's foul because it's so offensively generic. Not that I used the word 'foul' in my post anyhow. It DOES sound like so many other RnB songs. What exactly makes this tossed away Robyn demo a "masterpiece"?

Well the foul argument doesn't stand up with me because I don't and don't see how anybody else could find it generic. What else does it sound like? NOT Ciara. I did try and hear some similarity but frankly there's none.

 

I'm probably coming across really freaking arsey right now but all of this 'Itz such a rubbish album!1 No big choruses like on Change where you cud guess da words b4 you even herd dem!!z' crap is so ridiculous. Does nobody around here care for anything at all more than a big pop chorus? Buzzjack is the only forum suffering this influx of close-mindedness. Go and look at Popjustice or Ukmix where they're actually excited for a new direction.

It's just SOOOOOO over the top, dramatic... and quite frankly a bit camp.

 

Fair enough you don't have to like the album, but you can't possibly think it's as bad as what you're making out. It begs the question what we're you expecting?! Girls certainly didn't give the impression that this was some electro-filled Push-The-Button-esque album.

Still, I myself couldn't care less as long as the album gets the recognition it quite obviously deserves amongst the public.

 

I know I would not be happy with another yellow era. That's all I'll say.

Well anyway I enjoyed the album, which I wasn't expecting at all so I'm more than happy with it :)

Really poor and subpar album. It's almost incredible how a band who put out an album as amazing as 'Angels With Dirty Faces' are now releasing albums that are generic and boring a la 'Change' + 'Catfights and Spotlights'.

 

Honestly, does this album even have a direction? Maybe it's just because it leaked around the same time as the absolutely stunning 'Funhouse' by Pink which has an incredibly solid concept, but this just seems like completely baseless stuff. No theme whatsoever. For an album called 'Catfights and Spotlights' there's not a lot of glam nor fierceness, just boring and typical r&b rubbish. :/

I think people just love jumping on the 'hate everything the sugababes release until it becomes successful' bandwagon.

 

It's quite sad really.

You On A Good Day - LMAO at the intro!!! What a great song!!! i really like it - 10/10

No Can Do - Don't quite understand the NCD hate. It'll be interesting to see how it does at xmas, quite a nice upbeat feal to it. - 8.7/10

Hanging On Star - :wub: nuff said - 10/10

Side Chick - The verses sound like a $h!t verison of Back Down. Not them at their best - 6/10

Unbreakable Heart - Qutie a nice wee ballad - 8/10

Sunday Rain - WOW. i thought i may just love this after popjustice's review and i do - 10/10

Every Heart Broken - Its the sex imo, i love this song completely - 100/10

Well, no, because unlike the GA forum we can actually respect people's opinions.

I just agree, it's bloody ridiculous all you people saying "omg worst album ever" and "it's disgusting" "foul" etc. because it is the complete opposite of that :\ it is, for me anyway, their BEST album, for the main reason that's not bloody SAFE like Change and Taller. If you want a stupidly safe album, then go over to the GA Forum and bum the most likely ridiculisuly safe Out of Control, because frankly id rather listen to an album with a GOOD change of direction and more mature and smooth sound.

Beware - I actually quite like this, quite dark - 9/10

Nothing's As Good As You - oh, i don't like this much. Oh actually Keisha's verse is quite good - 5/10

Sound Of Goodbye - i like, mind you, i like pretty much all the babes slowies. - 9/10

Can We Call A Truce - quite nice, but not amazing. Now You're Gone is a far better closer. At least that made em go wow. - 7.6/10

 

 

Overall - 8.5/10 It's pretty good in places but lets face facts.

 

It's no 3/AWDF. but it $h!ts over Change.
