true, except France have no chance of ever making the top ten anymore in the ESC, and Herzebania have made the top ten twice

Neither do Switzerland really :(

Oh also I think Sangria is the Malta of this competition. They've never won but have had a couple of very near misses, and always send songs, which sometimes go completely unrewarded!

And bless you Rich for finding Untouched!

it's odd how random things like that can spark off a load of other effects...if I hadn't bought MusicWeek that week, I wouldn't have got the CD, I wouldn't have heard that song and I wouldn't have suggested moving the contest forward by a month, hence 'The Green Room' and all of the amazng stuff that happened in BJSC6 may not have ever surfaced and we might not even have had the contest anymore due to like you say, severely declining interest...

and then I wouldn't have ever heard Will You Remember Me Tomorrow  :kink:

Latvia won on their third time and haven't actually that good a record really. :o They flopped in 2001, 2003, 2004 and 2006.

Oh fair enough. When they won it seemed like they were awesome because they'd come top 3 in two of their first 3 contests.

Cool Vibes came top ten, should have been top 3 as the first half of the voting suggested it would be -_- Vampires Are Alive and Era Stupendo clearly deserved to qualify but a combination of diaspora/block voting combined with weak stage performances for the two songs in question soon stopped that happening

In the last 20 years or so, which let's face it, is how long France has had the attitude it has now towards Eurovision, I think it has had a much better track record than Switzerland surprisingly.

Because Switzerland have won twice alot of people forget that they really aren't that successful at Eurovision!

Latvia have a tendency of sending very random songs...The War Is Not Over, I Hear Your Heart, Questa Notte, Too Much and Pirates Of The Sea were all

I do like Latvia's songs usually and I respect them for trying something completely different every year ^_^ Greece send brilliant songs but I have no respect for them because they all sound the same :heehee:

Maybe I'm sort of Latvia then. The comparison being, "gooddelta likes the songs, but nobody else does :P"

:heehee: it's true, I've liked all of your entries to date, I think they are highly underrated

except Helena Paprizou...Teardrops isn't my favourite of her songs, although I still found it in my heart to give it 1 Point in the final

I've got my fingers crossed that Gigi makes the final ^_^

I've got my fingers crossed that he makes it out of the bottom three in the semi really :(

I would like him to get 21 points or more. That means that possibly 2 people have loved it enough to give it big points, or everybody has liked it enough to put it in their top ten. Or something in between. That's satisfaction enough for me :)

Tis very odd indeed :o I prefer not to think of things that are so affected by near-misses!

And that would've been a complete disaster

But they've only exsisted for two years :P, when they were with Serbia they got a second.

When was the last time Belgium qualified?

It was 2004 :P And they got through cos they were top 10 in 03.

Well I qualified once, so I guess I can be Belgium :P

Although they came 2nd in 03, but that doesn't count :D

Does somebody know what country i am? :( (Eledan)

I think Dalisska is the Portugal of the competition.

I think I nearly always send songs that are good but not amazing so they miss out on support and end up being placed 13th-18th in a final.

Bokia is Norway, when you have a good song it's amazing and goes top 5 but you're not a stranger to missing out on the final either :(
