I just foudn out it's from some soundtrack to a film called Mike Basset - England Manager :wacko:

Summertime is a great song and I don't listen to it near as much as I should.

 

Chemical Devotion is a BRILLIANT song :yahoo: ....yet another song that should have been on an album :(

Summertime is the ultimate robbie feel good song...it snaps me outta any bad mood after i listen to it about 10 times in a row :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

errr Ricky Tomlinson is out of The Royle Family - not My Family

 

...and it is a REALLY funny film - even if you don't like football :dance: :dance:

Finally watched this movie :rolleyes:

I liked it a lot!

Real Britush humour, a lot of football cliches about England National team.

 

When I was a child I supported England team so much and was always sad after their (pity) outs from the championships.

 

I didn't know that Robbie sang exactly during the most important moment of the movie.

So what can I say more... I'm still a big fan of the original version of Summertime!! One of the best his songs!

Wow I love this version too, especially the original lyrics.

I never understood why this song was never released as a single. I mean, the Rudebox version should have been released as a single and this version should have been included as a "bonus track/B-side* as a way to re-introduce to fans out there who may not have heard it before, like myself. I love the organic orchestra accompaniment of this arrangement.
