October 21, 200816 yr I didnt think it would get No.1, I thought 2 or 3. But, this Sunday, we will see them get the top spot, fair play to the girls. The song is a grower!
October 21, 200816 yr It's a great song But I think Sugababes "You On A Good Day" is a far superior 60's-inspired track
October 22, 200816 yr So has anyone changed their minds about this? I think we all know that anyone voted for No.5-10 and further down will be proven wrong this sunday. And who cares??? This is a poll and people have the right to be wrong with their opinions sometimes. Plus, you have to consider when the poll was originally posted, this release was going to clash with other hyped hits. They changed the release date to avoid the clash, tough. In the end it´s all about the album sales... that´s what keeps an artists career alive. Let´s see how they perform...
October 22, 200816 yr Its all about Albums my fellow friends LOOOOL. That's what counts not 99p singles .... girls aloud have only had one #1 album which was a greatest hits. Its funny that every time they seem to release an album around the xmas period. Probably if they released it mid summer or earlier they wouldn't sell half as much as they do ;)

And with a probable number 1 single this week, their new album should do just fine. Oh that and the fact it sounds completely amazing.

October 22, 200816 yr ^^ never know unless they do release one in the summer. But its like ive always said, i would definately support GA releasing an album in the Summer because i think it would go number 1 with little competition and fans WOULD buy it. You cant deny that GA do have a loyal fanbase because they have only ever had top ten singles. But if they release it in the summer, that would mean the album campaign would run through into xmas with new singles and basically at xmas, you would be selling the album on 3 singles as opposed to 1. Tangled up has only been out of the top 100 for what 2 or 3 weeks since it was released, so the girls obviously stick around. So yeh, i'm all for a Summer release matey, hope they go for it.
October 22, 200816 yr Couldn't you say that for any big artist though? Even Oasis, how many of their sales are intended christmas presents?
October 22, 200816 yr ^^ yeh and the thing is, no offence to oasis, i like them, but their other singles will very likely do nothing. Their album campaign will more or less be over already. And thats not a good thing, singles should go noticed because they show the public what the album can offer.

October 22, 200816 yr Ok, i set you to a challenge then, predict the chart placing of the next single and lets relate back to this once its charted?
October 22, 200816 yr Ok, i set you to a challenge then, predict the chart placing of the next single and lets relate back to this once its charted? i take your challenge ... top 3 for next Oasis single. Edited October 22, 200816 yr by Jez
October 22, 200816 yr Oasis are like a McFly act with thier singles. They chart top 3, then fly down the chart's faster then a prossie's knickers.

I love how people here think McFly were the first EVER act to do that  Oasis' singles did that WAY before McFly as do most of the real indie bands
October 22, 200816 yr i won't be- they usually do ok with their singles! I dont think their recent one has done ok by any standards tbh - Is gonna be out of the top 40 this sunday - I think they have had their day and are just releasing rubbish which sounds the same as their previous single before!!
October 23, 200816 yr Nar see i dont think thats true because i think GA have a very big fanbase who would buy their albums regardless of the time of year so sales would be strong no matter what. And with a probable number 1 single this week, their new album should do just fine. Oh that and the fact it sounds completely amazing. It´s a myth that trendy pop acts like GA have huge fanbases. They don´t. They can only sell well when they have a big hit on the mainstream media. And sometimes, not even with that. If they had such a huge fanbase, then they wouldn´t have missed Top 10 with one of their albums. Plus, everyone says the same about Sugababes, but their new album is set to open with a $h!tty 25,000 sales in its first week. I guess they were known as an act of "huge" fanbase to. TBH, I think only real credible artists have fanbases that would stick to them no matter what. Talk about AC/DC coming back since no-one-knows-when, and still strong enough for a #1 album.
