I think Kings of Leon may hold for a second week and deny both of them .

Haven't KoL already used up 10 years supply of luck, getting a mediocre track to #1? :)

There is one of them that is absolutely wrong. Westlife are not releasing an album at all this year. They are on a years break from july this year until july next year, so their next album will be released until next october/november time. Its the first time in 10 years that the lads have not released an album.

I think ManicKangaroo is the one you need to talk to about that - he has one listed for the 17th November.

I hope so although I don't like KoL or James Morrison all that much (Both new singles though are really good - yes i've actually grown to like the KoL song -_-) I just want one of them to deny Will Young from going to the Top. I've only ever liked 'Leave Right Now' & 'Who Am I?' but all the other efforts are just :puke: and his new one is absoloute rubbish -_-

When has that ever stopped his songs from succeeding before? :)

Seriously though, the only one of his I've liked was the one with the TopGun themed video.

Here are mine :

4/10 : Kings Of Leon

11/10 : Will Young

18/10 : Oasis

25/10 : Keane

1/11 : Kaisers

8/11 : Snow Patrol

15/11 : Dido

22/11 : Westlife

Based on the new info that Westlife aren't in fact releasing a new album this year, then for 22/11 I predict a 2nd week at #1 for Dido.

Looks like I will be buying a fair few albums in the next couple of months! :o

Dido is the only one of my predicted #1's that I'm likely to buy, though I may buy Katherine Jenkins's, & Jem's new albums.

I forgot The Killers were releasing again this year. They'll deffo be #1 when they're released.

Unless they're facing Dido - she'd make mincemeat of them!

Well yeah I see your point actually. :P

22nd Sept - Kings Of Leon

29th Sept - Kings Of Leon

6th Oct - Oasis

13th Oct - Keane

20th Oct - Leon Jackson

27th Oct - Snow Patrol (Pink will be close!)

3rd Nov - Dido

10th Nov - Dido

17th Nov - Rhydian/Beyonce/Dido

24th Nov - The Killers

I think Britney will sneak a top 5 and Duffy will still be top 10 by xmas!

Aha, i'm a tit sometimes!

Okay, so Pink will be close that week.

I'm not overly convinced. Maybe if she was up against the she;d do well, but she's been away for a LONG time. People are expecting her to just waltz in and have amazing sales, which I don't think is going to happen tbh. The music industry has changed. Whereas The Killers are one of the biggest bands around at the moment. I'm sure Sam's Town had one of the highest first week sales of 2006 too (behind Arctic Monkeys)...

Sam´s Town had a massive opening week, but fell like a rock. Sales of that album weren´t nowhere as big as Hot Fuss, or comparable to the almost 3 million sales of Dido´s Life For Rent. Dido has proven stability by selling, with her second album, practically the same as she did with her massive debut. While indie/rock bands like Killers and Keane failed to have their 2nd albums anywhere as big as their debuts.

Still, it´s not about who´s going to be more sucessful. To get #1, what matters is the opening sales. Dido has a massive recording public who is going to buy this new album no matter what... So even if sales in the long run are not that big, the 1st week sales should wipe the floor and guarantee her a #1...

Hot Fuss only became big when they re-issued Somebody Told Me. Like I said earlier, the music industry has changed now, just because Dido had a massive selling album about 5 years ago, doesn't mean she'll be huge when she comes back. She'll be big, but i'm not sure whether she'll be as big as some people think she will be. Madonna was huge ast, and look at her last album, was a complete flop.

Most indie bands don't have a big a 2nd album as their debut. The only one I can think of is Razorlight over the past couple of years. I really don't think you should write off The Killers, i'm v.sure they'll have big opening week sales to rival Dido.

Sam's Town sold over a million though, as Hot Fuss did. It was 3 weeks at No.1 so didn't fall like a rock and it's sales are only about 100k behind Hot Fuss!! It's opening week sales were 268,946 with 82,000 week 2 and then 48,000 in week 3. I'd guess at 200k first week for their new album.

I think alot of people are underestimating AC/DC, I think they will make a HUGE return to the charts.

Me too and out 27th Oct like Snow Patrol.

Dido for #1 for the rest of the year. :D

I said that until I heard Take That were releasing on 1st December!!

But didn´t Hot Fuss sold past the 2 million mark? I´m sure Sam´s Town is way beyond that... What I say is the tendency is, once an artist becomes huge, it´s sales star to gradually decline, and that´s what happens with MOST artist, for example James Blunt from "Back To Bedlam" to "All The Lost Souls", as Keane, Scissor Sisters, Killers, etc. True that their 2nd albums were sucessful, past the million mark, but still they tend to decline from a half to just 1/3 of the previous album. Dido was a rare exception since she had 2 consecutive 3-million-sellers. Sure that she will face a decline sometime, like every artist does, but this decline tends to be gradual. If she sells just 1/3rd of what she sold with her previous album, I think that will be enough to easily beat the Killers, since they must also face some decline in sales...

Well it's irrelevant as The Killers and Dido are not releasing in the same week iirc? But anyway, The Killers will get to #1 with Day & Age. I'd imagine with quite high sales too.
