Do you think this whole controversy would have a negative effect on her album sales?

Highly doubtful! I think a bunch of non-fans having nothing better to do but criticize, and who probably weren't gonna buy the album anyways, won't really have an impact! People were just expecting way too f***ing much from her performance last night. I know the press is panning the performance but I'm sure it could've been a lot worse. The press is definitely being overshadowed by all of the Britney adverts, airplay, tv promo, etc.

Is this convo still goin on lol. People keep asking why we were expecting much. Oh I dont know many becuase she is a world wide professional entertainer. Oh im sorry for expecting so much for a huge multi million selling entertainer to do her job and maybe even sing live or dance on her first big UK tv performace in 5 years. Wow I realy did expect to much didnt I. But as one of you said. As long as she was happy and smiling lol.

Same Difference mimed. So lol. They hardly in the calibre of Britney Spears. And Mariah didnt mime.

I'm pretty sure I remember Mariah getting panned for miming on some big UK show. Don't know what it was for sure. Right now it really doesn't matter that people are hating on the performance since it's helping single sales at the very least. Hopefully it helps boost album sales as well!
LOL at you thinking Mariah DIDN'T sing live! She didn't mime 'Hero' but that was a complete mess! She mimed 'I Stay In Love' FOR SURE!

She hardly made a complete mess of it. Yes hardly amazing but wasnt a total mess. At at least she was live.

And Mariah didnt mime.

Course she didn't

And since we're still arguing (), why have one rule for Britney and another for Same Difference??

Fact that you need to ask makes me laugh.

She had to sing it live since the contestants were coming out at the end. She was live during it, but she didn't move at all, soo stiff

Well, so far everyne argument against it has been 'if you're performing on a show which aims to find vocal talent, you should display it yourself.' I fail to see how that has anything to do with Britney being in a different calibre of success to SD.

Its Mariah. She hardly known for her dancing abilities. Kylie sung live and she wasnt that good either but at least these acts gave a live performance.

To be honest I think acts should sing live on ALL tv performances. SD are a 2nd rate high school musical act. You dont expect anything from them. You do from a huge star like Britney

I quite agree - in an ideal world, I'd love everyone to be genuine. But, they're not.

Second rate HSM or not, I expected a lot of Same Difference last week - and for me, they didn't deliver. I expected it, because they delivered it every week last year. But a lot can change in a year ...

See?

However, I for one had realistic expectations of Britney this week, and all of them were healthily fulfilled. Anyone who SERIOUSLY expected Britney to sing live on Saturday was seriously misguided, and clearly knows very little about Britney as a performer. To me she was energetic, happy and gave a solid performance, and I was more then happy with that.

Im not saying a was a terrible performance. No where near as terrible as the vma. Yes she was happy. Yes she was energetic. Yes she looked good. Maybe I was expecting to much from her. Obv I was wrong to. I just think it would have silenced a lot of those critics that were saying that she has lost it if she had danced a bit more like she used to. nd if she is gonna mime, at least mime well (she had enough practise over the years lol)

Britney has NEVER sang high tempo songs live, so I don't see why you are suddenly expecting it from her now?

It really doesn't make any sense. If you thought it was off par because there wasn't an ass load of dancing that's one thing, but go look at all the other promo performances from her past and they are exactly the same.

and tbh her miming was pretty believable imo :o

Out of interest: does anyone know if the track has leaked for me to iPod?

Here ya go (You do mean the one that she's been promoting don't you? with all the circus-y stuff

Ok ive just watch the performance again and you know what its a lot better than I originally thought. She actually moved a lot better than I thought to. I think its cos ive always had a prob with her constantly miming. Obv id still like to see her dance more and even better to see her sing live a hell of a lot more esp if its a up tempo song,. Other acts can do it so I dont see why she cant.

:cheer:

I am not phased by her miming, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't like her to sing live. But as long as she sings her ballads live I am more then content.
