Posted September 19, 200816 yr http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z165/Jark101/sugajark1.jpg In my boredom, I had an idea! With the release of Catfights & Spotlights just a month away, and my love for the Sugababes absolutely sky-rocketing over the past year which has included a great album spawning three classic singles as well as a stunning tour in support of it, I thought I'd recap my 20 favourites Sugababes songs as of right now. I'll do the same this time next year when the C&S album has really sunk in, and it'll be interesting (for me anyway) to see what's changed! And obviously it'll be harder to compile too, haha. So as I countdown to my #1, feel free to comment my choices! In my '08 countdown are... 13 singles 12 songs from 2005-now 4 #1 hits 0 One Touch era songs!
September 19, 200816 yr Hmmm, i wonder what the 4 #1's are. I doubt you've included Walk This Way but i wonder which other one you havent included.
September 20, 200816 yr Author http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z165/Jark101/sugajark2.jpg You don't know Where we go You don't know That we're angels with dirty faces in the morning Kicking off my countdown is the title track of the girls' second album; it was released as Stronger's double-A side but was pretty much sidelined in terms of the attention it got, not helped by the cheap if amusing animated video. Still, it's an addictive little number, and any song featuring a spoken member-name introduction can hardly go wrong! http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z165/Jark101/sugajark3.jpg Fire in my eyes And baby I can't disguise That deal that we did Gettin' me in the mood If I could make a man he'd look a lot like you Next up is a hugely popular album track from 2007's Change; produced by Xenomania it's strikingly similar to the girls' 2004 hit In The Middle which perhaps explains why this never became a single. Either way it's a hot dance number and it truly comes alive when performed live on stage; only the ill-fitting bridge before the final chorus lets it down, but that's a minor thing. http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z165/Jark101/sugajark4.jpg If turning this around Is what I have to do to get through to you My fire's burned out, it's true Some genius at the girls' label decided they could each have their own solo song on Three; thank god for said genius because Sometimes, Heidi's confection, is sweet as anything, and truly under-appreciated. From the slow, rousing downbeat verses to the breezy, string-filled chorus, it's impossible to find fault with this gem. http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z165/Jark101/sugajark5.jpg I'm filled with sexuality With or without a man I feel complete Stop speculating, I'm a regular girl Sugababes + horns = a bout of disgruntled and alarmed fans. Girls has really split the fans, and whether it'll break their run of #1 lead-off singles to studio albums remains to be seen, but certainly it's a wonderful song and it doesn't deserve to miss the top spot. Each girl's verse is distinct and it's a rare case of verses beating the chorus hands-down.
September 20, 200816 yr MLIP?!?!?!?! Why? i really honest to god don't get the love for MLIP. Yay for Sometimes and Girls
September 20, 200816 yr Author It's nowhere near the best on Change but it's still one of the six amazing songs on there :P And will you be right about FLM? Have to carry on following this thread I guess :teresa:

September 20, 200816 yr Author http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z165/Jark101/sugajark6.jpg Deep and twisted, but I refuse Don't want advice, but help to choose I'll just walk these tracks alone Use it as a stepping stone This lovely album track from three features a laid-back guitar beat under faster vocals as well as a fair dosage of the girls' favourite noise; the classic oooooh. The lyrics are wonderful and the song is refreshingly floaty for a Xenomania number. It's aged very well too. http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z165/Jark101/sugajark7.jpg You have to look it in the face And recognize it's you that makes you Better, ridiculously reduced to bonus track status on 2005's Taller In More Ways, isn't a fan fave but I love it's bouncy, fun beat and catchy chorus. A read-through of the lyrics is a thoroughly depressing affair but the miserable content isn't reflected in the sound of the song at all! That's always a good thing. http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z165/Jark101/sugajark8.jpg Why can't the boys be the toys That the girls want the boys to be? And why can't the girls see the world How the boys want the girls to see? From one opinion-splitter to another, there are a fair amount of fans who don't believe In The Middle should've ever had a single release; to those people I suggest self-admittance into a padded cell or something because this is pure genius! From the crazy, nonsensical lyrics to the hard-hitting dance vibe, you can't go wrong with a bit of ITM. Xenomania strike again. http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z165/Jark101/sugajark9.jpg Ain't it crazy how you think You've got your whole life planned Just to find out it was never ever in your hands? If In The Middle is one end of the spectrum with it's upbeat club sound, Change is surely the opposite; laid-back, soulful and sultry with a tinkling, mellow beat, it's a typical Sugababes ballad. The vocals in particular are absolutely lush here, with Amelle's verse sections combining rawness and beauty.
September 20, 200816 yr In The Middle  Never understood the hate for that one. And Situations Heavy  *Runs to play 3 on repeat and shuffle*

September 20, 200816 yr Nice countdown so far :o I wonder what the top 5 could be :teresa: :kink: you know which of them will be getting STICK FROM ME.
