#20 - Breakin' Dishes



now I aint trippin

This amazing Maneater inspired song from Rihanna was initially my fave on the GGGB album but I kinda overplayed it to death now! It's still amazing and woulda made a fab single [note to Rihanna don't actually release it, we've had enough babes]. Still a wonderful track with a very catchy and distinctive hook I think.

#19 - A Million Miles Away



It feels like you're a million miles away as you're lying here with me tonight
I can't even find the words to say I can find a way to make it right
And we both know that the story's ending
We play the part but we're just pretending

A criminally underrated song from Rihanna's rather crappy sophomore album 'A Girl Like Me' but I really think its beautiful and has some touching lyrics :wub: The voice isnt the best [but she has improved .. a bit?] but the emotion is there I think. ^_^

Techinally not Rihanna's song but I still love it. Deserved a much higher peak in the UK! :( But with no Radio 1 support and only available on downloads it was always going to happen really. I think it's a little underrated coz I do love it but yes it is my worst Rihanna single if you can count it as a single aha [i don't to keep Rihanna's Top 20 run nice and perfect :teresa: ]

What a sexual start to a sexual countdown.

 

I like Breakin Dishes :)

Breakin Dishes should have been a single instead of Hate That I Love You.

 

I think Rihanna really improved If I Never See Your Face aswell

I think all of her albums are brilliant, very much varied in style. I dont think you can criticize any. My top 5 in no particular order atm are- Question Existing, Breakin Dishes, A Girl Like Me, Disturbia, SOS.

#17 - Hate That I Love You (Feat. Ne*Yo)

Such a cute song really :wub: I don't think it should've been a single though really, I do love it though. Her and Ne*Yo's voice work really well together too I think. She looks amazing in the video for it too I think.

I remember being SO gutted when this forgotten gem just missed out on the Top 10 in the UK! :( A perfect summer song that was strangely released in like November :heehee: It would've definetly done better otherwise I think. Her voice actually really suits this song too. And the lyrics are just so cute.

 

#15 - Question Existing

Yes I'm one of the few people who adores this album track from GGGB. But it really is amazing I think. :wub: The lyrics are amazing I think and I can relate to it alot in some ways. I love the insight to Rihanna's life too, it seems like its personal to her [as she allegedly helped write it]. So yeah go RiRi!

Loving it so far. Hate That I Love You is one of the most under rated Rihanna SINGLES on BJ IMO. It's Fantastic I think!

Question Existing - Does absoloutely nothing for me. It's by far my least fave on GGGB. This is definately the marmite of RiRi's songs - We either Love it or Hate it! :lol:

Interesting. HTILY and Lovin are good, but Question Existing :heart: is great!

A clever song taking the woman's perspective on why a relationship ended. Very meaningful lyrics I think and the melody goes with it very nicely too.

 

#13 - We Ride

Just like everything you told me...

 

Yes it isn't my worst Rihanna single, shock horror zomg!!11v etc. I really love it, it's such a cute summery split-up song and I can actually relate to the lyrics too. It was never going to set the charts alight but I am glad it had a few fans [obvs including me] as it made #17 on the UK Singles Chart.

 

#12 - Now I Know

Baby can't you see, it's just the way it's gotta be ...

 

The only album track from her debut album ''Music Of The Sun'' to appear on my countdown. SUCH a beautiful and meaningful song, the lyrics are rather personal to me too as I can relate to them to each word really. Her voice may not be the best on it but the lyrics and emotion make up for that hugely. Also this was planned to be a single until her label decided to release her sophomore album earlier than planned! :o

Some fab songs Jack. We Ride is vile though but i love Good Girl Gone Bad, really should have been a single.

GGGB Should have Without a doubt been a single :( - In My Top 3 RiRi songs EVER!

 

WR isn't great but it's better than QE

 

Now I Know :wub: definately a highlight on that album though!

I dont like GGGB the song, at all. The rest are flawless. Makes me think. . Your #1 is probably going to be very interesting

What an amazing debut. Although she does seem to have changed drastically from this upcoming Reggae/RnB singer to a amazing pop/RnB singer today. I do love it though, it's so infectious and I was hooked on it after the first listen.

 

#10 - Shut Up And Drive

Amazing :wub: I dunno if it should've been the second single but I really did love it at the time. Perfect summer song! The lyrics were very tongue in cheek, very much like the song itself. The video was also really good and Rihanna worked that hair! Haha.

 

#09 - Cry

Waaay too good to just be a bonus track. Shoulda replaced the incredibly bland ''Say It'' I think! It is a lesser version of ''Unfaithful'' though I think, but that's by no means a bad thing ... you'll see where ''Unfaithful'' comes later on :P. But yes, very touching lyrics that I can relate to somewhat on a personal level. It would've done quite well if it was released as a single I think.
