So you believe people who haven't nominated shouldn't take part? Given we only have 30 nominations maximum (with a minimum of 21 for BJSC I) so far, I'm fairly reluctant now to have that go ahead seeing as that would essentially alienate quite a few countries for a month...including Simondly and Kylienips amongst others :( I'm currently favouring random draws and up to the person whether they want to vote in one semi or the other or both if they so wish.

my only problem with that is they could be more votes for one semi.

 

If you think it'll work then we can give it a bash. If it doesn't work then we know for next time.

Possibly having it so that only people with entries in both semis can vote in both? Something to compensate for the fact that they would require a vote where they were guaranteed to get no points. Actually yeah, that sounds like the way forward :o People with entries in both semis vote in both, people with entries in just one semi vote in their own semi ^_^ Anybody with just one entry prequalified into the final (and we have at least one virtually guaranteed at this late stage) or no entries in the thing can vote in both.

If I'm being honest I expected a Lily, Serebro, Untouched and Evanescence/Jem/Adele result for BJSC VI. :o Well it could still happen, but two of those and no Serebro. :lol:

This has probably been said before but I think it would be better if every country could enter the best of contest with thier favourite song from the last ten contests. Even though all countries have the chance of getting into the semi's. Some countries can be pretty certain they haven't a hope anyway from the start. I think there would be a lot more interest and votes if each country could enter thier best/favourite song from the last ten contests.

 

It just seems like countries are being excluded(maybe not in the obvious sense but in a subtle way) from the events even if they have the "chance" of getting in. (Which for some countries could be very small and that could make some people care less about what happens)

 

This is just how I feel about it anyway.

I agree - It is definately something we should look into the next time

I think everything is okay with it, BoBJSC is the best song that participated and has been voted for by the majority of people.

I think the current format is the best way to do it. I'm not saying this to sound spiteful, but if someone missed out this time it's because they haven't sent anything popular enough in the last ten contests. Every song had an equal chance to get through as recaps for every contest were available. I'd feel the same if I had no entries in the contest, sure it probably wouldn't be as fun for me but if I didn't have any entries 'good enough' for a place in the Best Of I'd understand.

 

I'm just using this example as it's the one that comes to mind, but if I was FNTNickodonia I'd have no choice but to use my one entry that's made the final and it finished outside the top 20. I'd feel that it wasn't truly a Best Of if I had my entry in the finals when multiple good entries from countries like Kopecka, Mdice and FSR Rontvia were missing as they could only pick one entry. I just feel this is the best way to do it as it's what the majority of people think are the best entries in the finals. One of my favourite entries, for example, is 'No Substitute Love' and that came last in the BJSC 7 nominations.

I have to agree with Aaron, the current format is better. Sure it annoys me that Rontvia and Kopecka and the like have so many entries in the competition but it would be unfair to make them pick one entry only.
