I was just compiling my list for some of the earlier contests, there really were some terrible songs in BJSCI, I'm struggling to find 5 I'd want in WYRTWT :(

right then, when do my nomos have to be in then?

Two weeks after the end of BJSC XI - we've got about six weeks to get these all in :funky:

Same time frame as for normal contests - a week for each ^_^ Possibly longer for the semis as there won't be limitations as to whether people can vote in one or the other...or perhaps there should be? :o It's up to you as to whether people are drawn into voting for one semi or the other, but it's fine for there to be no limitations if you so wish ^_^

Don't assume a thing - Saving Jane is guaranteed to be one of my nominations :wub: The more flops we have in this, the better - it just goes to show the changing music taste of the BJSC! :heehee: For example, Moonlight Shadow, which came 4th in the first BJSC, would probably fail to qualify in BJSC XI! :lol:

True...though I don't think much will have changed since BJSC VII. Saving Jane really didn't deserve to flop I agree with whoever said it was quite similar to Katy Perry's song which went on to win that contest - I guess it just didn't have the gimmick to win enough people over.

 

I'm not sure if Moonlight Shadow will fail to qualify, I haven't heard it but with big hits like Maneater/Say You'll Be There/Shoop Shoop Song/Push The Button/No One (and possibly now Tattoo, though I'm guessing it wasn't cheap at the time), 'terrible' songs by NIN and Charis and four foreign songs it doesn't leave many to pick from. :lol:

 

Basia Bulat's In The Night is the major wrong I want righted, although I sincerely doubt that will get enough support to qualify :(

I should think it will get through, when I was making the recap yesterday it sounded like it was among the best of that contest. ^_^

Tattoo wasn't particularly cheap at the time, and still isn't (depending on whether she's actually releasing it next or not though :heehee:), although the quality of entries was generally quite poor in that contest :( There were still some absolutely gorgeous songs in there though - Frahliso FTW for BJSC I :wub:

I have provisionally written up my list of nominations to be sent after the conclusion (and inclusion) of this contest :D

 

my BJSCVI votes are nothing short of eccentric :rofl: all of my favourite songs did awfully in that contest

Oh goodness a week for each is more than enough I'm sure!!

 

Does it have to be a full two weeks after BJSC XI as well? I am pretty sure most people will have all of their nominations in within a couple of weeks from now :rolleyes:

it would be nice for you to host I think, you've put so much into the contest since the beginning but not yet had a chance to host anything

True, it's hardly a monster #1 hit as it has peaked at #50 in the UK so far. But it's still known by a lot of people on Buzzjack as it definitely went top 30, maybe top 20, in the Multichart.

I wouldn't be surprised if 'Believe Again' made it, I expect I'll nominate it - but I haven't watched any recaps of the contests 'before my time' apart from BJSC IV so we'll see.
