March 2, 201015 yr "Hands" was released in America today :D iTunes album positions #67 (deluxe version) and #188 (regular version) Well it's an achievement, so well done Bootsy :cheer:
March 2, 201015 yr Hopefully it will chart on the Billboard 200 next week. *Fingers crossed* Edited March 2, 201015 yr by Tacticz
March 2, 201015 yr Thats really good news, I hope she gets to do some radio and maybe tv shows. She is one of the fews Brit acts who deserves to make it in America she is great live.
July 26, 201014 yr It's incredibly depressing reading this thread through and looking at how it all turned out. Still, if tales hold true, apparently she's going all DARK and SEVENTH TREE for the second album. To which I'd say, I bloody hope not. Seventh Tree, A&E aside, was pretty crap in retrospect!

I think Little Boots can do it better though
December 5, 201014 yr Is she really releasing that second album? She couldn't ride the hype first time around, I'm surprised she's given another chance. I admit several songs are very good on her album but they could be sung by anyone, she doesn't have much of a personality or a distinctive voice unfortunately...
December 5, 201014 yr I really hope she gets a second album. I think her lyrics are very good and quite personal, but she needs to add more musicianship to the next album, and as much as I hate to say it, less RedOne.
December 5, 201014 yr Yeah I think so, but my point was, getting an established hitmaker, that was actually a bigger name than her was on reflection a surefire route to one-hit wonderdom.
December 6, 201014 yr But the point is, they already tried that route and having a relatively decent hit by RedOne didn't help at all. I think she will have to duet with some established act to get noticed again.
December 6, 201014 yr Did a lot of people know 'Remedy' is produced by RedOne though? I didn't until I reserched it. Though, it might be just me.
December 6, 201014 yr It was a very obvious RedOne production, but I disagree with Tom - better to be a one-hit wonder than a no-hit wonder! Her main problem was that she could never take one route and stick to it - she was always a little too throwaway pop and wanting to be a popstar to be a true darling of the indie-pop contingent who went wild for Stuck On Repeat and Mathematics, and the pure pop she did come up with was far too disposable and fluffy at times to actually establish her as a world-beater. She came up with some proper classics: the aforementioned two tracks, New In Town, Remedy, Earthquake and Meddle, but stuff like Tune Into My Heart, Ghost and Hearts Collide was either fluff-pop by numbers or just simply terrible. Not, of course, that it made much of a difference - barely anybody bought the album. No, what killed her off was a mixture of overhype, hype that didn't match up to what was delivered - electro-pop quirky keyboard goddess who ended up throwing out RedOne tracks - her putting out pretty much all of the great tracks before the album was released (with the exception of Remedy) so that it inevitably seemed like a massive disappointment to everyone who'd been tracking her, and, lest we forget, THAT video for New In Town. It's a massive shame really. Had she just popped out Meddle and Stuck On Repeat as buzz tracks and then held off the temptation to leak more stuff until album release, and then come out with Remedy in February before following up with New In Town and Earthquake, I'm pretty certain the album would've been heralded as a pop classic and she'd be in a fantastic position by now with an anticipated album. Alas, she's pretty much on the scrapheap due to poor timing and one of the worst managed album campaigns ever in terms of throwing away the huge amount of attention an artist had built up.
December 6, 201014 yr And what a hit Remedy was! Oh yes  I've overplayed it to death but it still retains a place in my heart, and oddly enough I stick by placing it in my top thirty of the decade!
December 6, 201014 yr She came up with some proper classics: the aforementioned two tracks, New In Town, Remedy, Earthquake and Meddle While I agree those should have gained bigger success than they have (especially selling the album itself), I don't think songs like "Remedy" or "Earthquake" were anything more than pop fluff. But of course they were tailor-made to be hits, so it's really her image and the marketing that hurt her. Imagine if those songs were released by Cheryl Cole. :P
December 6, 201014 yr Meddle was god awful, thank god it didn't get released. I enjoyed her album at the time of it's release but now I don't see what I liked about it as such, Remedy will always be a favourite of mine however
December 6, 201014 yr it's really weird that 'Earthquake', 'Meddle' or 'Stuck on repeat' weren't top 10 hits, they are such instant pop classics... these songs are better than most of the songs realeased the past 5 years put together... why she flopped surely eludes me, it's the same equation as why Paloma Faith wasn't the new Amy Winehouse even if imo i think Paloma's album is probably as good as (if not better) than Amy's 'Back to black'. Little Boots should've become the new Kylie, but with bad promotion it wasn't bound to happen... Hopefully her record label won't mess up second time around and release 2 or 3 singles b4 the album...
