We all like a challenge, right? I discovered an old Hits 93 CD gathering dust at home, and forgetting how much random bollocks this year presented.

What would be on your album of 1993? Pick 10-12 tracks... you know the drill! :P

01: SWV "Right Here" Nice use of the human nature sample, when RnB was about great melodies and great voices... not boobies and shagging like nowadays!

02: Sub Sub "Ain't No Love (Ain't No Use)" 15 years on and still sounds remarkably fresh! Now rather decent indie band and being mancunians always gets a unconditional thumbs up from me!

03: Robin S "Show Me Love" Quite simply, one of the greatest vocal house records of all time!

04: Stakka Bo "Here We Go" Random Scandanavian pop. In a cool way, that is...

05: Bjork "Venus As A Boy" Strange and beautiful.

06: Leftfield Ft Lydon "Open Up" Leftfield were great in their early days and this was a great collob!

07: The Time Frequency "Real Love" Take me hiiiiiiiiigggggggggggghhhhhhheeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrr! Grea slab of northern cheddar!

08: Sade "No Ordinary Love"

i doubt she has many fans on this forum, but I like a bit of Sade myself.

09: One Dove "White Love" One of my favorite chill out tracks of all time, stunning stuff.

10: Sybil "When I'm Good & Ready" A guilty pleasure and the last ever great SAW produced track!

It's about this time when I start to remember songs in the charts, only very barely though as I was 5 years old. Most songs I didn't hear until years later.

Some of my faves:

2 Unlimited - No Limit (the Basshunter of their day with the Now You're Gone of their day, massive-selling number 1 you either loved or hated! Still love it)

Usura - Open Your Mind (classic almost-instrumental)

Sunscreem - Pressure Us (one of my favourite dance tracks ever but virtually unknown, extremely underrated song)

The Beloved - Sweet Harmony (up there with 'The Sun Rising' as one of their best, video sticks in the mind too)

Freddie Mercury - Living On My Own (still getting hits even after his death)

M People - One Night In Heaven (anyone who lived through the 90s without hearing at least one M People song is a liar)

4 Non Blondes - What's Up (even though they were one-hit wonders this song has a lot of happy memories for me)

Pet Shop Boys - Go West (the song that got me into the Pet Shop Boys and I still love them 15 years on, amazing video too)

Culture Beat - Mr Vain (amazing Eurodance classic and a deserved number 1!)

Apache Indian - Boom Shack A Lak (great reggae track at a time when half the charts were full of them)

Capella - U Got 2 Let The Music ('U Got 2 Know' was good but their followup was even better)

...and Mr Blobby by Mr Blobby.

08: Sade "No Ordinary Love"

i doubt she has many fans on this forum, but I like a bit of Sade myself.

I like Sade too, loved this track.

1 sub sub ft melanie williams 'aint no love, aint no use'... agreed scotty, a superb timeless track!

2 duran duran 'ordinary world' one of there best hits.

3 usura 'open your mind' great dance track, great message!

4 lulu 'independance' arguably her best track ever...

5 snow 'informer' probably my fav ever rap track :)

6 shara nelson 'down that road'

....... thats all i can come up with in this year which must be one of the worst ever for music... awful, simply awful.

I forgot to add Usura to my list! Bloody wicked track!

Shara Nelson was a great singer, she never really took off though sadly.

Was an awful year but there was some decent stuff around but you had to really look for it. Bit of a transitional year, post-grunge and pre-Brit Pop but there was stiil Kate with her last album for years (although some of it was poor!)
