This thread is lowkey a mess tbh, would love to have a fully organized one with all my points given and received etc, not to mention the OP randomly stopped having links to all my entries a while ago :') Also missing some spin-off entries etc. Oh well. Laziness is a bitch. Vote for me.

You could always just start a new thread. I've done that 3 times lol. x

That sounds cool but I could just try to improve this one :P

(finally someone else posted in here lolz)

I can definitely see how this has got stuck in your head so much, it is really entrancing. I mentioned on plug that it reminds me a bit of 'Olvídame', and I remember I listened to that on repeat like 10 times in a row when I first found it and it didn't leave my head all day lol, could imagine doing the same thing with this xx

This to do well plz

Yeah I do have a habit of repeat listening to my song contest entries til they're almost completely worn out lmao (I guess they're all just that good -_-). This was one of my more impulsive entries as I think I actually found it the same day I confirmed it, which is a bit embarrassing ha. But I just found it interesting and wanted to share.

Thank you, I think it could definitely go either way, depending on how the audience feels about catchy remakes of Afghan folk songs presently! I liked your entry too on plug btw, this reminds I still need to do a re-listen and vote :kink: That deadline is creeping up!

Rubio - Fábula

story

Unintentionally keeping up with the Spanish-language 'theme' two contests in a row, this however is very different from my previous entry, which almost felt like a bit of light relief. This artist, from Chile, was a late-night find not too long ago and I ended up listening to the album this is from at about 4 am I think. The whole album was fantastic but this is the one that made its way into the contest, with its very cool production and vibe-y vibes. Hope you enjoy!

'Fábula' has made it through in all its gorgeousness. That's fab, lovelies :3

I would love to FINALLY get (at least) three qualifiers in a row after this one because it is rather hilariously harrowing (notice the descriptive alliteration) that I've never had more than two in a row after all this time... So hopefully I can find something for next time which sounds like a likely qualifier!

Camouflage - Close (We Stroke The Flames) (Single Remix)

the ferris wheel is turning

the tale is told again

and if we don't care

we end up all the same!

Camouflage is a Depeche Mode-like band from Germany that I used to listen to when I was younger. I recently re-discovered this song and decided to enter the catchy single remix of it. The original was released in 1993. I'm pretty sure this remix was also released in 1993, making it I think my second oldest entry (after Massive Attack's 'Unfinished Sympathy' which was from 1991). The remastered version from 2014 is the one on Spotify. The original is also fab, has a lovely strings part near the end which this one doesn't (so how could I not go for that one?!? I must've lost my mind!) but I felt this version would be a better entry, whatever that means. Hope you enjoy and give me my first instance of three qualifiers in a row :P

We didn't make it. Hoes. But I was kinda expecting it.

I already know what I'll send to the next edition tho, it's so beautiful and different from... pretty much anything else ever lawl. Exaggeration is cool. Found it probably in 2016 or so and had it in the back of my head but always felt it might be too lowkey for the contest. I really want to unleash it now tho and let it live its BJSC life.

Also the first part of the artist name is the same as the first name of a prominent member on here :o

GUESSES, GO!

Björk? x

I can't wait for you to find out!

  • Author
btw on that note, I've lowkey considered the idea of sending Björk but like, veto much? Even if it was a not-so-well-known song and escaped the veto (and I know she's been sent before ages ago), to me it would still feel strange af cos she's basically a living legend in the music world.

well that was quick for you to find out xx

Now if we wanna expand our horizons, I can tell you that Deandria matches up best with the ENFP personality type in Myers-Briggs, Terra Avium is INFP, Persephonia is INTP, Skall is probably ISTP and the rest...? I haven't decided.

I keep thinking about this and I've nothing better to do atm so here goes :')

Deandria, an ENFP

Deandria fits best under the Extroverted, Intuitive, Feeling & Perceiving type of one of the most well-known personality typing theories in the world. As an ENFP, she leads with a cognitive function known as Extroverted Intuition (Ne). This pertains to her desire to curiously explore various realms (in this case, music) that she finds interesting at any given time. Known as a bit of a prankster function (and indeed type), she feels most at home in the world of experimentation and experience, although because this is her dominant function, it is not always a conscious choice. It is simply in her nature.

As an ENFP, Deandria backs up her dominant Ne with her second function, Introverted Feeling (Fi). This highly emotional and value-based function allows Deandria to have quite an intricate understanding of what she is looking for on an emotional level - she tends to 'just know' which songs feel right and which songs feel wrong. As her highest decision-making function (her first function is a perceiving function), Fi allows Deandria to make decisions that feel right to her on an individual level, based on gut feeling.

Her tertiary function is Extroverted Thinking (Te). This has to do with her ability to organize her plans and things in the external world. Getting things done. Because this is only her third function, Deandria doesn't utilize this function particularly strongly, although it does help her out at times.

Finally, as an ENFP, Deandria's "inferior" or "repressed" function is Introverted Sensing (Si). This means that in general, she is not naturally adept at traditional, highly structured or detailed ways of doing things. She may also struggle with using her past experiences and memories as a guide. This function however is still part of her personality type, so she can learn to tap into it every once in a while, even if it may tire her out.

ENFPs tend to be sociable (as expressed by her prolific plug.dj presence), emotional, fun to be around and have a charming presence. They love experimenting and new ways of doing things. They tend to plan minimally and prefer to go with the flow. Although extroverted, they do tend to need more alone time than other extroverts. During these solitary times, they often reflect, think about their values and process their emotions. Although sometimes scattered in nature, they are often big thinkers and adventurers, with the potential to inspire others with their creativity and positive philosophy.

Isaac Delusion ☀ Midnight Sun

endlessly repeating the same tune over again

over again

over again

over again

over again

I discovered this about four years ago and considered sending it then but felt it might be too low-key. Feels right to send it now though. Coupled with a beautiful video that's kind of difficult to describe adequately, this is a lovely song from the French group. One of my favourite elements of the song are the weird cut-up vocal parts that add some amazing atmosphere. Hope you enjoy.
