Just been watching loads of old "The Chart Show" clips (dont ask why lol). It was normally a very reliable source to what the offical chart show look like on sunday becuase it was based on midweeks up till Friday. And according to the show -

 

"What do I have to do" should have climbed to number 3 instead of number 6.

 

"Shocked" should have only climbed to number 7 and not number 6.

Oh yeah. I was thinking of Step back in time lol. But still quite a fall in the midweeks for it

'What Do I Have To Do' definitely deserved to go top 3, or at least top 5.

The Chart Show used a completely different source, I'm farily sure it wasn't based on midweeks, it was the "Network" chart. Check wikipedia, it probably gives you a lowdown.

Slightly off topic, but was it true that both 2 Hearts and Wow got to #1 on physical sales when they were released?

Yep, as did 'In My Arms'.

If I remember 2 Hearts was actaully number 2 physically and that In my arms and wow got to number 1

ya i know wow was number 1 on phyisical and im almost sure in my arms was also

'In My Arms' definitely was.

 

I guess this is hard evidence that they were stupid for not giving 'The One' a physical release.
