I'd almost say that Oasis are worse than McFly in that they've been sticking with the same awful sound since the beginning of their career, just as boring each time. McFly have at least changed slightly, even if their new style is just as bad as before. I suppose the difference is that McFly try ridiculously hard to get the #1 spot, so it's very lolzzz when their singles drop quickly afterwards. So when Oasis fall fast it's not really the same situation; it's just falling fast because they'll never gain many new fans because they only cater to their former fans by never changing their sound to something, you know, actually interesting.

October 13, 200816 yr You're right Suggy! Oasis are a band that know how to make a GOOD album. Can you really see Mcfly producing a classic album? Can anyone even name a Mcfly album? Surely people here can at least name 1 Oasis album. If you can't then hit yourself on the head.

My favourite Oasis song is not on either of those classic albums. If Oasis change their sound then they will probably lose fans. Mcfly have made an attempt to change their sound to get rid of the screaming girl fans.

October 13, 200816 yr Dig Out Your Soul, Don't Believe the Truth, and Standing on the Shoulder of Giants all sound incredibly like their previous albums. o.O I mean, their newer albums have a much more clean production quality to them as technology has progressed, but at the core it's really the same music, same direction, same effect, etc. I suppose the only difference I can really point out is that Definitely Maybe had a bit of a grittier sound, but other than that? Not much. =/

They all sounds like they came off a Fathers Day compilation in 1998 along with about 50% of the other stuff on both of their last two albums. Even Q Mag only gave the new one three stars... Even Q Mag only gave the new one three stars... you see that's exactly it, Oasis are a band that no matter what they release they will be loved by millions :)... and if Q gave it 3 stars and your influenced by that review... then you need to sort your self out mate. Since when do reviews count these days? It's amazing that oasis get some much hate yet the keep coming back selling $h!t loads of albums, selling out massive tours.

October 13, 200816 yr lots of people quoting various reasons (excuses?) for this drop and quoting total sales figures to back that up- i've never felt sales are any guarantee of quality (look at a list of all time best selling singles ffs) and both bands have excellent top 10 runs in the singles chart. Oasis DO sound very samey, any time you hear any of their songs old or new, you instantly know it's them. However, i do think the quality is as consistent as the sound. They've lost some of the glory since the first couple of album days but they still make good music though its a shame sometimes they don't know how to do anything else. McFly write good, catchy pop songs and are trying to rock their sound up a bit just now to become what they want to be, rather than what the previous record company told them to do to sell records. Whether its the sound, or the band themselves though, they seem to polarise people into love/hate camps (which is funny, as i find their music quite inoffensive, though i've never been a fan). The funniest bit is the fact some people are offended even by the comparison! Lighten up, it's all music and as with all art forms taste is subjective. Compare what you like to what you like. That said when a single plummets in the charts in the future, i think people will still be referring to "doing a McFly" rather than "an Oasis". Shame! I'd rather people didn't use this as a way to slag either band with no real reason! Respect other's opinions, and if you don't like, don't listen i say!
