Don't worry, i'm sure they'll think of something :lol: A little premature to say they're all washed up when this single hasn't even bombed yet (not released for a couple of weeks) and their last was top 3 and still charting. It is difficult to see the prob though- NCD is a good song and they've done a good job with it but you are correct in that there seems to be apathy surrounding them at the moment, but this isn't the first time for them and sure they can re-engender the public's interest.

 

Coversely, GA seem to be irrationally loved whereas before they garnered good reviews and sold consistently, but despite being media/advertising darlings, had yet to make it huge. They seem to be on the cusp of it now. Who knows why? Their latest album is certainly good but not their finest (they've yet to make a duff one), and the sound is much the same as before. My conclusion is the Cheryl Cole factor (sorry to use the same name as that $h!t show)- from all her XF and hubby-cheating exposure the public has totally fallen in love with her, someone is finally commanding more column inches than Posh. How long before the bubble bursts though?

 

Personally, i think there is room for 2 Girl groups in the UK. Both have defied the odds in lasting so long and performing so consistently and they wouldn't be the same without each other, so long may it continue! (There may even be room for 3 i'm thinking, as the Saturdays are also growing on me :lol:)

 

Oh, and since its the point of the thread NCD TOP 100 IN WED MIDWEEKS! :D

Top100 good. So it's not going to be a Sanctuary style megaflop.

 

 

There's something strange about this era. It's very One Touch. In fact, i think if this album was released in 2000/1 then it would be on sales similar to One Touch.

 

So this leads me to deduce that this sound isn't what they like from our girls. It's quite strange. C&S is a very strong album, Change split the hardcore fanbase and brought in many new fans who are now disgusted by C&S, but the Fans who first fell in love with AWDF and 3 seem to worship it and have now forgiven them for Change.

 

I honestly don't understand it. This is not delusional fan speak. The promo hasn't been awful the songs are good. The album as a whole are excellent, yet its flopping hard :cry:

This is the worst thing that can happen to any act in this stage of the music industry - its not that people dont like the song, they dont like the act singing it.

 

This single proves my whole thinking about this era and why i think sugababes may have had their day, the music is pretty good and its what they have always sold themselves on, but people dont seem to be interested in sugababes anymore and i really dont know what they can do to change that. Its certainly something beyond what i can think of, hopefully they will surprise.

 

I dont know why all the GA fans are saying that people is tired of Sugababes. I dont wanna be rude, but I think you are telling that cause you want to see them how they are right now, not selling albums.

 

I think that the problem is that Girls wasnt the best first single, I love this song, but I recognise that it isnt good enought to present the album. Also the album have had very bad reviews from people who download it and I think that the general public dont give a damn about it because they think that the album is $h!t, even without listen it. Sugababes have tried to do a more mature album sound with C+S and obviusly people dont like this idea, IMO people want the electro-pop like AYN, MLIP, RR , PTB ... etc.

 

IT is very sad cause 4 me C+S is their best album , but well, I think that they new one will be very electro-pop that is the kind of music that they do fantastic and it will bring them to the top of the charts again.

Anybody who thinks they're over is delusional. Let's be clear here - the problem 100% lies with Girls. If they'd had another About You Now, this album would have had Change-like sales. And they will have them again.
Are they goin to release a remix bundle as they did with Girls? I'd like to download it!

I think so. It should be out on 22nd, this Monday. :D I freakin LOVE the WaWa mix now! Amaze! Bimbo Jones is really good too. The Mowgli mix sucks though. :heehee:

B!tch, please. Even the most anti-C&S Sugababes fan would not go that far; if you don't think there's a good song on this album then quite clearly the Sugababes are NOT for you.

as a girls aloud and sugababes fan... i do totally believe they r different bands... the fact sugababes are struggling at the minute is the music and lack of hype around the album, they have always had an amazing come back song

then girls... and im sorry... i hated it, no can do... is kinda weak! oh i wish they'd released never gonna dance again or my love is pink of change and followed the success of about you now rather than the dull denial!!

I'm kind of hoping No Can Do will do similar to Kylie's In My Arms, it did terrible on downloads but as soon as the physical came out it went from out of the top 40 into the top 10. Maybe No Can Do can manage a similar feat?
I'd have to agree with Ben actually. I dislike the record more than him I believe from when we discussed it. I dislike everything on the record and you KNOW I'm a fan of their past work Jark...

I think that the big difference between Girls Aloud and Sugababes is that GA have a very professional team around them, that choose the right singles and do a lot of promotion of any single and in the other hand Sugababes went wrong in the moment that they realased Change the single. I love the song but after AYN they needed to realase another killer like My Love Is Pink or Never Gonna Dance Again, no a bland ballad. Do you know what I mean? I was sochked when I saw that Change was the second single, with Girls Aloud it never happen because they can do a bad album ( 4 me OOC isnt very good album) but they will promote the right songs of it, they few good songs of it.

 

There starts the problems for them and the flop of Change and Denial, because it wasnt the right moment for them. Now if we see girls aloud, the have had a smash hit like 'The Promise' and their new single is the other killer of the album 'The Loving Kind'. Another example is that Girls was an awful comeback single, I hope that 4 the new album they change their management and pick up the right singles.

It's been Top 100 all week, and it has this week and next week on downloads alone. I think it might just be able to make the Top 30.

I feel the same, as probably shown by my previous rants on this thread (and everywhere else :lol:) I feel frustrated coz i don't know what they did wrong, and i think you summed up what the change era did very well too! Like OT, this will prob be a hardcore fan favourite in years to come, but the masses may never love it the way they'll love their next massive electro album! :lol:
