No Can Do up to 89 on Itunes now

93 on iTunes yet #12 this week on airplay....

 

Thats unbelieveable.

 

How can such an unpopular song be commanding such high airplay? I mean good for them but how can it be like that? Radio is supposed to play popular songs :unsure:

Thats not true, a lot of dj's and radio stations just play what they want, look at shakira with "hips dont lie", that was number one for weeks and radio 1 refused to playlist it anywhere, so you are telling me they werent getting any requests atall for a massive hit? Its the same when they playlist songs before they even premiere like they did with madonna.

 

I just think its really unfair how dictorial radio can be, they should play music that is popular as in selling well. There are artists selling better at the moment who radio are ignoring.

 

There are some acts out there who you know full well it doesnt matter what they release, radio will hammer it to death.

I think the line has to be balanced, if they just play what is popular and selling well, then they might as well play the current top 40 - how do new songs get a chance and new artists? But if its obvious that the public aren't warming to a song which radio are flogging, then why play it?

 

I think the record company does pay radio to play a song though (again, something else that comes out of the funds)

Nar, its good that you look positively at this. Its very sad, and the single is going ahead so we might aswell just praise any improvment it gets and hope that it will do ok when its released.

well despite top100 placing on itunes not top100 in official chart this week. was 170 last week so assume has moved up some at least

Radio DOESN'T exist to play the most popular songs. It exists to play whatever they want to play. A lot of the time songs only get popular AFTER radio has played them, and equally sometimes radio latches on to a song and it doesn't take off with the public, like here. Why wouldn't radio hammer No Can Do? They've played every other Sugas single to death (except Easy, ha) and sales before now have always been very strong as a result.

They are insane not trying to maximise sales

Really hope this can manage to pick up soon somehow, hopefully the single version download will be some sort of help.

The administrator of Sugatime said that Island Records read his site, that's why they changed the dates :s yeeeah.

 

Anyway I am seriously gonna buy No Can Do, support is the only thing that the babes NEED
