Releasing on the 22nd means it will chart the week after christmas week, which is usually a dead week... which in turn should give it a much better position.

How does that make sense? 'Change' was released the same week and charted at #13 and Too Lost In You nearly missed a top 10 placing in the same week of 2003. This isnt good.

No, 'Change' was released IN Christmas week when singles sales are highest. This is the week after christmas weeks with half of the sales days falling after Christmas day. Effectively it should ensure a better position, theoretically anyway.
