It will easily become Top 10, and I would be surprised if it made Top 5...

It might just scrape into the top 10 but i doubt it will get top 5.

I do hear similarities in the melody between those 2 songs, so do my friends (who doesn't really know the babes so they're not biased whatsoever), but well I guess it's just me and my friends who are nutters.

There's no OFFICIAL sample. Yes they sound alike, many songs do. But an actual melody has to be idential for it to be a simple, and the original writers of that have to be credited.

 

In the Catfights booklet, nobody is credited who created that Jackson 5 song. There is no sample, just a similarity, and no defensiveness, just fact.

that's so weird! i was just about to post that a friend of mine said this song really reminds him of the Jackson 5 then read your posts! Not a bad sound to tap into though, people love that song so could work out well

you're not a nutter!, I don't think people were meaning to be defensive. Think as earlier post says though, either it sampled it or didn't, its a question of fact rather than interpretation and legally this would have to be (arranged and) mentioned in the album sleeve, and it isn't. My friend thought the same as yours though, so you totally have a point. I say Post away and don't let others bug you too much, it all keeps the forum popular (as long as you're not rude)
