Not keen on the T4 performance, the "giiirls, giiirls, giiirls" in the chorus sounded awful, and since it's about 70% of the song, it's hard to enjoy the other parts :lol: And they really can't move, their moves made me laugh, so it's fun I guess :lol:

you're not the only one that sings- i sing in a band and i know when someone is singing live too! And they did- end of!

GMTV today was playback (mimed) unfortunately, but what can you do lol. It's on the smaller end of the promo scale so it doesn't matter so much.

 

Next thing we get to see or hear now is the Capital radio sessions on Thursday. If they do a good performance of Girls that'll be big promo since several millions of Londoners listen to that. :D Perhaps they'll do an album track too? Hmmm.

 

Also they're doing their pre-Q awards gig on Wednesday but that's not televised. I should imagine they'll do the usuals (AYN, Hole) as well as Girls obv, a few more hits and a few songs off the new album. Hopefully some good quality youtube footage from that will appear the next day.

Yay- even more performances!

The GMTV chat was a bit rubbish (no surprise; Ben Shephard shouldn't ever be allowed near popstars). All that was really said that we didn't already know was:

 

*The management suggested 'Earth' as the album title and the girls were like 'no!'

*The album according to a Keisha has a slightly live-sounding feel to it *panic mode kicking in*

*Girls was originally given to them a year or two back but wasn't used for Change because it didn't fit the direction of that album. They decided to go with it this year which is when they wrote the new verses.

I cant believe girls is that old, i think it would have gone down better a while ago when that boots advert was used over xmas. Saying that, i am DEFINATELY not saying it should have replaced AYN.

Few million watch GMTV but i dont think the kids and housewives can distinguish between live and mimed anyway! They cant dance to save their lives either though!

I think its peak could be #3 actually, looking at the list of promo. There's no more big tv promo left really, apart from Al Murreys, i dont think the radio sessions will help it you see. All the promo should be a week later than it is, hence they should of done SCD and T4 this weekend and seen it soar up with the physicals next week (or at least left GMTV until next week).

Capital radio is BIG promo - it's by far the most listened-to station in London. Radio 1 similarly is bigger promo than GMTV or anything daytime. We'll see...

Not that much really. Heart and Magic are bigger, they both take over 6% of listeners in London - Capital takes just over 4%. Whereas GMTV reaches over 13 million weekly. Remember record buyers arent just from London, the capital only accounts for a 5th of the UK.

 

Either way i still think No.1 is out of reach along with no.2. This is gonna peak at no.3.
