June 8, 200619 yr I like it, although soon all of Europe will be in it anyway won't they, so it will be good in that way, unites all of Europe. Awwww :) I don't get all the politics side though unfortunately ^_^
June 8, 200619 yr very bad, as they interfere into everything we do in our daily life,we will have to change miles to kilometres, drive on the right, etc etc the list is endless, and we will have to pay much higher taxes to fund the EU gravy train in Brussels.

June 8, 200619 yr Author I bet we won't change to KM for a seriously long time ^_^ I bet we do, we already use litres not pints, kilograms not pounds and ounces.........!
June 8, 200619 yr I bet we do, we already use litres not pints, kilograms not pounds and ounces.........! Well yeah, but litres and kg are easier like they all divide into ten and everything. I can't imagine them wanting to change all the road signs? Although they could stick new numbers over the old ones ^_^
June 8, 200619 yr I bet we do, we already use litres not pints, kilograms not pounds and ounces.........! then it will be the euro :puke2:
June 8, 200619 yr Author then it will be the euro :puke2: I really hope we never adopt the Euro, we are in a stronger position without it!
June 9, 200619 yr I am pro Common Market, thats what I voted yes for, I am all in favour of Europe as a trading zone and the EU reducing trade barriers but the EU can go **** themselves if they think I will accept a United States of Europe where they impose loads of stuff on us I am in favour of the Common Market and even the Euro but I am not in favour of c**p like the social charter, stupid human rights regulations, a European army where they decide what our troops can and cannot do, Brussells dictating our interest and inflation rates and so on
June 9, 200619 yr I'm pretty much pro-EU, the paranoid c**p that's been spouted about it in the right-wing press is just a bunch of ignorant tossers talking bollocks about things they don't really know very much about to be honest. An integrated Europe has kept the peace within Europe for generations and the EU should definitely expand to incorporate the Balkan countries which will hopefully prevent another Bosnia from ever happening again... And I reckon that if we'd had a United States of Europe it just might have stopped UK from entering into an illegal war in Iraq. For my mind, a United States of Europe is vital to act as a counterweight to the excesses of the US, with no Soviet Union around anymore to keep the balance of power in the world, a new Superpower to challenge the US domination is vital...

I don't think a United States Of Europe would have stopped the illegal war on Iraq, France are traditionally a cowardly race when it comes to conflict and Chirac was getting kickbacks from Saddam Hussein anyways and Germany are banned under a treaty signed in 1945 from providing combat soldiers for any military operation so Germany would not have been allowed to take part in the Iraq war In a United States Of Europe who would be the president ? Britain is the strongest economy in Europe by a country mile so rightfully we should lead the USE but more than likely it would be German or Burlesconi and then they would impose economic policies on us that would strangle the massive success of the UK economy A USE lead by Britain and with British economic control I would support but not any other circumstances
June 9, 200619 yr France are traditionally a cowardly race when it comes to conflict Dunno about that mate, what about Napoleon? Not exactly cowardly....Only mistake he really made was trying to invade Russia. And at least the French had the courage to do away with their royals when they had a Revolution and not keep loads of the fukkers around like Cromwell did....
June 9, 200619 yr im pro europe. things progress and evolve, the worlds money markets arent the same as in 1945, and since then we are getting closer to our neighbours (not forgetting of course that they are decended from the same gene pool as us anyway!) i dont think that nowdays we have much choice tbh, we have to be part of a united states of europe in order to have our say in the worlds money markets. we just cant compete with the supergiants of the usa and eastern countries like japan. we as a nation just cant pack the same punch as what we used to do, we are small fry now as other economies have grown. so we need to be part of europe. i dont think though that for one minute we will be changing our driving habits, its just toooo impractical. and i agree that there have been some petty rules coming out of brussels, but on the whole i believe we are better off within the e.u.

But surely even you cannot defend the common agricultural policy, which is so heavily weighted in favour of french farmers, the EU subsidies, the corruptness inbuilt into the whole organisation, where their accounts have been qualified for ,well for ever.If it was run more efficiently and all the hangers on were booted out then it might work, but I think its too big and its only going to get worse.
June 10, 200619 yr i didnt say it was perfect, far from it, but i dont think we have a realistic choice. and we are reaping the benefits of subsidising less well off nations.

I work for the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, on Agricultural Environment Subsidy Schemes. I assure you that English Farmers get plenty of money!
