I hope I'm wrong but I've got a horrible intuition about England's match which starts in 20 minutes.

It is very warm when & where England have to play which will surely favour Paraguay & after Ecuador's surprise victory over Poland that would surely have boasted the South American team's confidence.

Well I've got the T shirt, but its too hot to wear it, the flag is flapping outside, armed with my whistle and a coke with a few friends from the area, all raring to go :D :cheer:

I'm hoping for a clean, quality and strong performance from the team.

England to win 3-1

It was an own goal, Paraguay player heading it, from a free kick

Yes put the deflection was minor, it looks like the freekick may have gone in anyway so it might get given to Beckham.

The game has not flowed.

The referee is very finicky & is capable of doing something very stupid to make himself famous, while Paraguay's #13 seems to be allowed to foul, elbow, dive, etc without any repercussions.

Playing in a baking hot Frankfurt 30C, England should have made it 2-0 by now, but Paraguay were getting more & more into the match as it went on.

England have now scored 11 consecutive First-Half World Cup goals without scoring in the second-half, that stat is rather worrying with only a one goal lead....

The referee is AWFUL.

Paraguay don't look like the side I thought they would either. They ARE playing an agressive game ... but it's not the threatening type of agressive, it's a messy, rugged and edgy type of game which won't do either team any favours. England could get some injuries from Paraguays sloppy play and Paraguay could injure themselves the way they're playing.

Personally I still don't why Gerrald got cautioned in the first half, he did not make contact with the player, very odd caution

The referee seems to be making a few mistakes, the game seems a bit sloppy in some places

The ref might as well be done with it and put on a Paraguay shirt

Mind you its been a bit of an uninspiring performance from England

Phew,

Three Points :) - that is all what matters in very hot conditions that heavily favoured Paraguay.

That referee should be sent home, he was an absolute disgrace who along with Valdez was arguably Paraguay's best player!

According to the Radio 5Live - Michael Owen's substitution was tactical. :o

Well that was a poor performance from England in the second half altogether, it just ran out of steam they just didn't make any effort to attack, the substitues didn't make an impression at all, don't know why Owen was taken off, the referee was a joke altogether, some of his decisions were a bit odd.

It would have been better if they tried to score a second goal, it would have put the opposition into disarray, let's just hope Sweden don't score too many goals against T & T tonight.

I think the heat probably got to England

Taking Owen off was the right thing, he has played about 2 league games in 2006 and will be needed for the big matches later on in the cup so not worth losing him through injury against the mickey mouse teams

Tbh I think that was a terrible performance from England in the second half. Paraguay wasn't much better either.

I don't think we've seen the winner play yet, if we want to have a serious chance of winning this competition we have to produce more than that which, imo, just wasn't good enough.
