October 25, 200816 yr i will be buying take thats album and i will say confidently take that will outsell her by miles
October 25, 200816 yr I haven't seen Britney's album cover yet .... but I'm sure when she almost gets her baps out on it - it will be most aesthetically pleasing to you! And of course, as dear old Kenny Everett would say 'And its all in the best POSSIBLE taste!'  Norma Good morning folks! I know you've missed me so there's no need to return the greeting! She has not had one skanky studio album cover to date...I will admit her GH cover is a bit raunchy but that is one cover out of seven. http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B00000G1IL.01.MZZZZZZZ.jpghttp://img122.imageshack.us/img122/9503/oopsididitagainjm9.pnghttp://img233.imageshack.us/img233/7837/britneylc8.jpg http://img338.imageshack.us/img338/534/inthezonevb3.pnghttp://img233.imageshack.us/img233/4127/blackoutzj3.jpghttp://images.amazon.com/images/P/B000BKDOCA.01._SCMZZZZZZZ_V62370774_.jpg The exception: http://img338.imageshack.us/img338/2775/greatesthitsalbumcovergu5.jpg She really isn't bad at all when it comes to showing to much on covers. And that goes for her single covers as well. With that being said I have no problem with TT I hope they do well, no hard feeling towards them but I think it's pretty damn certain I have been anticipating a PROPER album release from her for quite some time now. My anticipation level is off the track!
October 25, 200816 yr I'll be getting Britney, but my sister will be guaranteed to be getting Take That's the same day. And on the topic of artwork: whilst I agree the TT cover is foul, I'm sure Britney's could be too. Of all her covers, I only like the Oops! cover - she has notoriously dull artwork IMO. Some of her singles are good, including Womanizer - so hopefully there's potential for the Circus cover to be the first Brit album cover I LOVE. But I'm generally unimpressed by a lot of artwork recently - I often see fanmade covers knocking around that are far superior to what the labels pay thousands for, and it makes me MAD!
October 26, 200816 yr True. but it actually peaked at #13 and has still sold a respectable 527,000 units. A "respectable" amount of copies is just not good for an album that had 3 top 2 hits, 2 of them being number ones, and one of them being practically a pop classic (Toxic). That´s less then mediocre, IMO. That´s why I say no matter how big her singles are, it won´t translate into huge album sales in UK. She can only do "respectable" with her albums. I don´t think the album is so anticipated as it looks... Really, this is BuzzJack, and it´s heavily inclined towards female pop princesses. Any of Britney´s album was anticipated here... The reason why I think this album will chart low, maybe even outside the Top 10, is because it´s out in December. Under these circumstances, she will need to sell 80-90k to just scrape the Top 10, and I don´t think she´s enough of a credible albums artist for this. "In The Zone" was also heavily anticipated... A duet between her and Madonna, the controversial kissing on MTV, and all that stuff ended up as a... #14 debut for her album.

A duet between her and Madonna, the controversial kissing on MTV, and all that stuff ended up as a... #14 debut for her album. True, true...In The Zone is my favorite album from her after Blackout but besides the main singles it really wasn't near as commercial as the rest of her albums. And even though the promotion was great in the beginning it didn't last because of her forming a relationship with Kevin, her dislocating her knee and cancelling a large portion of the tour etc, etc. I'm not using this as an excuse mind you. Two of her best singles came from the album and I also am surprised that it has even hit 600k yet...it really should have done alot better. And to address her not hitting the top ten with ITZ opening week in the UK...she really didn't promote it near as much as any of her previous efforts...and let's face it MATM (while a good song) was not conceived that well by the public...it only charted high because it was well...Britney. But at the same time she is following up 'Blackout' which was critically acclaimed by fans and 90% of the critics who usually don't side with her at all. So I guarantee that a good percentage worth of people who bought 'Blackout' will also be interested in her next album. I also think this anticipation is different because she is making one of the biggest comebacks in pop history. She went from a sexy pop vixen to a crazy woman who suffered from post partum depression and bi-polar disorder then ultimately losing custody of her kids to a man that cheated on her...all of which actually went in her favour image wise. People stopped looking at her as an object and started looking at her as a person. And I think that she even has a majority of her past haters rooting for her to get back on track career and health wise. 'Womanizer' is her biggest hit in the US since BOMT and you know in some shape or form that will help the single out everywhere else in the world. Britney's album could end up scraping platinum status and then it could end up being her biggest selling album in the UK to date...you never know how things result until they actually happen. And on the topic of artwork: whilst I agree the TT cover is foul, I'm sure Britney's could be too. Of all her covers, I only like the Oops! cover - she has notoriously dull artwork IMO. Her only covers that are GOOD would be "Britney" and "In The Zone" IMO..."BOMT" and "OIDIA" are cute, and Blackout is just wtf. This is her first album that seems to have theme...and I think it will result in her best album cover. [knock on wood]

It´s barely 12 months since her last studio album. I don´t think that´s enough time to generate an aticipation. In my country, radios are still playng the last single from Blackout. This is odd. And by the way Womanizer is NOT her biggest hit since BOMT in America... It just happened to chart higher then other because this era is rule by downloads, a whole different system. Many other songs from her, like Toxic, I´m A Slave For U, Oops I Did It Again, etc, would easily be #1´s under these circumstances. So far, I guess womanizer is doing just marginally better then "Gimme More" (which, itself was also praised as her "biggest hit since BOMT", cause it was only her second Top 5 hit in America). While GM debuted in the low 60´s with airplay alone, and then jumped at #3, where it spent 2 weeks based mainly on downloads, Womanizer debuted in the low 90´s, then jumped to #1 and fallen to #4 on downloads alone. Considering Gimme More didn´t even have a proper video, just a dull version that was release very late, and that download market is doing whooping increases every year, I´d say that Womanizer is having, more or less, the same sucess that Gimme More had in America, or maybe just a bit better.

It's a comeback considering she is promoting it in the same quality as pre-2004. It will be recognized as her biggest hit though, the public will see it is at number one and only two Britney singles have been there so it has been given that title in America. If given todays chart system 90% of her singles would have been top 10...and (You Drive Me) Crazy, OIDIA, Stronger, S4U, Toxic and Everytime would have been #1 easily as well. Gimme More had more then a month of a radio release on airplay so it could gain momentum. Womanizer had one. And neither of them had videos out when first released for download. Gimme More sold 170k it's first week, while Womanizer sold 285k it's first week. I'd say that's more then just a margin. It is also doing alot better on radio (#13 on mediabase and still rising fast, GM peaked at #16) then Gimme More. And Womanizer fell to #4 because unlike TI and Pink (both made up the top 3) she has only been on radio release for 3 weeks while they have had months to gain momentum (Just like GM) 50% of BB is still radio and considering she got to #1 with record breaking single sales, we all knew she wouldn't be able to sell 250K plus 2 weeks in a row! And it is still #1 on both sales charts selling 201k it's second week. So no Womanizer is doing ALOT better then Gimme More.

November 1, 200816 yr She went from a sexy pop vixen to a crazy woman who suffered from post partum depression and bi-polar disorder then ultimately losing custody of her kids to a man that cheated on her...all of which actually went in her favour image wise. People stopped looking at her as an object and started looking at her as a person. Tyler the degree of your fanatiscism here is just making you loose sight of rationality/objectivity imo. You are painting her as someone with whiter than whiter morality and you should know thats utter sh!te with sort of 'normal' young woman things she did behind all the "GOOD CHRISTIAN living" PR BULL Jive actively pumped out about her ( + she agreed to cover their lies) . Just because fate has made her suffer horrifically does not make all her faults VANISH eg. then ultimately losing custody of her kids to a man that cheated on her... She lost custody of her kids FOR THEIR well being considering how her behaviour had deterioated and being commited to hospital - any parent so mentally ill they can hardly look after their own health SHOULD NOT BE LOOKING AFTER anyone else even if they are their own kids. Her illness is rooted to fate, being unlucky with Mother nature (eg like someone young who has to inject insulin to manage their diabetes) - it no-one person's particular fault that she became ill and its AMPLIFIED results on her life, she has a natural susceptibility to stress etc (which she will have to manage competantly to survive - and considering shes just gone back into the lions den by actively courting fame + press intrusion which was responsible for aggravating her mentality in the first place, it doesn't seem hopefull she's learned much lessons to save herself from the same fate :( ). You seem to make Kevin out to be "Mr Evil" and Brit to be "Ms helpless victim" when in reality from evidence its seems at least POSSIBLE, Britney out of BANKRUPT morallity ACTIVELY courted Kevin despite she was fully aware he was a father with a familly and kids - AS IT TAKES TWO to TANGO = Brit's conscience could have kept whats in her pants under control when she knew as a family man he was 'off limmits' (eg how might the childrens psychology in later life be affected loosing their DAD at that age). This may be human nature but that does not excuse the moral irresponsibility and thoughtlessness of it all and the potential damage it can do the kids minds and the REST OF THEIR FUTURE - all because Brit selfishly wanted one bloke when she could have had countless free and single men - BAD GIRL!
November 1, 200816 yr I'll be buying both at some point. Britney - Well, I have every other Britney album and need it to complete the collection, plus I do adore Womanizer. I also want to see how she's progressed since Blackout. I'm very much anticipating this release! Take That - I haven't even heard the lead single yet, but I enjoyed Beautiful World so why not? They're not usually the type of group that I like (being male vocalists) but I find myself humming and singing along to their singles despite not consciously having much interest in them. So I probably won't buy it first week or anything, but I will look into it a single or two down the line.

Kelly - I've heard preview snippets from the whole album and it is massively different to Beautiful World so I'm not sure you'll like it. I absolutely love it ... and can safely say that Greatest Day (the first single release) is NOT the best song from the album. Mark Owen gets to sing most tracks and I have to say ... they're pretty good too - even though its obvious Gary is the best vocalist - the songs Owen sings really suit his voice. It is a pretty retro sounding album. Without giving my age away ... the nearest similarity I can think of is The Move and The Idle Race (midlands bands from the 1960's) with a bit of Simon & Garfunkel thrown in. You can really tell these lads have had a fabulous time working together. I'll hold my hands up and say if you want an album to dance to then buy the Britters album - but if you want one with a lot more humour and less self-serious infatuation ... treat yourself to the TT album first. Norma
November 5, 200816 yr Well, I will buy the Take That one -there's the Gary Barlow old fan in me that would buy anything that the man composes. Besides, I really enjoyed Greatest Day - a good show opener, IMHO> . I was a bit peeved that Mark is singing most of the tracks.

I am Gary's greatest fan (although I'm sure there are loads out there that would disagree with me) but I was very, very surprised when I heard the snippets. The album is truly a joint effort - and the thing I love most about it is it sounds so stripped back and accoustic. As much as I liked Beautiful World - to me it suffered a bit from 'over-production' as though they were trying just TOO hard. This time you can tell they've thought 'what the hell - lets just hang loose and see what happens' and its a better album for it. I can't wait now for their third (post comeback) album. The best thing about it for me is the Move and Idle Race thing! Norma Edited November 5, 200816 yr by Norma_Snockers
