My Review:

01 - If There's a Rocket Tie Me To It: Love this. So epic sounding  Great album opener, and would make a fantastic single! - 9.6

02 - Crack The Shutters: Classic Snow Patrol  I really, really like this. Glad to see they still have what it takes ^_^ - 9.4

03 - Take Back the City: Brilliant comeback single I thought. Really like it, and I hope it has a healthy chart run  - 9.5

04 - Lifeboats: I actually don't like this one. It reminds me of Jack Johnson/Jose Gonzalez and I like neither :puke: It's the worst so far! - 4.3

05 - The Golden Floor: Oh dear what's happened? After such a promising start! :( It's not getting better. It's not much different from Track 4, but Track 4 is slightly better! - 3.6

06 - Please Just Take These Photos From My Hands: And We're getting somewhere. This is a much better song than the two before it. I am starting to get my hopes back ^_^ 8.8

07 - Set Down Your Glass: Not a brilliant song, but nice all the same. Easily forgettable though :( 6.3

08 - The Planets Blend Between Us: This is a really nice song. I really like it. But same as above, it's forgettable :( 7.1

09 - Engines: This is OK, although it's like the other 2, forgettable! I don't know what's happened to this album, it's gone all Pete Tong at the moment :( 7.2

10 - Disaster Button: Love This! It's Brilliant and more than makes up for the previous forgettable songs! 9.3

11 - The Lightning Strike: (i) What If the Storm Ends: A good start to this 3 Piece set! :o 8.7

(ii) - The Sunlight Through the Flags: Quite Boring. But then kicks in a little! It's OK. 7.1

(iii) - Daybreak: The best of the three. It is really good! deserves to be a track of it's own ;) 9.2

Overall: It sadly, doesn't match up to their first two albums. But all in all it's actually quite good. After what looked to be a promising start, my hopes for the album reached expectation. But then tracks 4 & 5 came along and totally ruined it. Then you have track 6, which recovered the album a little, but then 7-9 wasn't all that much. The last 2 (4) tracks however, lifted the album from being a total disappointment to being Good and listenable. 7.7 out of 10

It seems like 1/3 of the album is great, 1/3 is normal, and the other is horrible.

I've only listened to Take Back The City, and I completely agree with you.

I really want to listen to: "If There's a Rocket Tie Me To It". For you is the best track, and it definitely has the best name!

Thanks for this, Johnjo! ^_^

Thanks for the review. I haven't listened to the new album yet. Am gonna behave myself and wait for it to be released.
i bought the album today as it was released here yesterday so im just listening to it now if there's a rocket tie me to it is a great album opener
If There's a Rocket, will definately be in my Top 5 Snow Patrol tracks
Hmm I'll go looking for it tomorrow after work, hopefully it's been released here already.

I haven't got it yet!! I don't know when can I buy it :(

I've only listened to "If there's a rocket tie me to it" and "Take back the city" and both are great songs. Hope all the songs are like these

I'm loving the album, Crack The Shutters is amazing, apparently its their next single, this could be the new Chasing Cars

Set Down Your Glass  beautifully lyrics, this has to be a single

I can't even find a bad track on it, vocally and lyrically iits pure lush.

a little but of irish chart news

Snow Patrol head straight to the top of this week’s Album Chart with their fifth album ‘A Hundred Million Suns’, and in the process achieve the third fasting selling album of the year so far after Coldplay and Kings Of Leon. This is their third album to reach the No1 spot – 2006’s ‘Eyes Open’ also debuted at the top while 2003’s ‘Final Straw’ had to wait almost 9 months from release to make the top of the Chart.

In any other week, I'm pretty sure they had sales that could have been number 1 had they not been up against P!nk ^_^
Listened to the album, don't rate it much (it's pretty boring). But Engines is
i would say on about 30 of the previous weeks they would have got number 1,still once the album keeps selling its the main thing,,final straw hever went higher than number 1 but went on to sell over 1.6 million albums in the uk alone

Fantastic album, can't decide what song I like the most yet

Is probably a tie between: If There's a Rocket Tie Me To It and Set Down Your Glass

5/5

If There's a rocket (Tie Me to It) is now officially in my Top 5 Snow Patrol songs... perhaps top 3... 'Crack the Shutters' is in my top 10
