Posted October 26, 200816 yr Sugababes have vowed to return to a 'dirtier' sound when they start penning their next studio album. The girl group decided to avoid writing electropop songs when they worked on their current disc, Catfights and Spotlights, and are planning to continue with their stance in the future. Band member Keisha Buchanan, 24, told the Daily Star: "The first ever Sugababes album was quite raw and we have always wanted to go back to that - to being a bit dirtier. We all love going to live gigs and kind of touch on it with this album and definitely know in the future what stuff we would like to be doing. "A lot of bands are touching more on the poppy side but we have outgrown it a little bit. We are more vocal-based, especially on this album. We wanted to mature when we were writing and make sure it was vocally challenging." Buchanan recently revealed that she may decide to put the group on hold while she focuses on her education.
October 26, 200816 yr Oh god, if it aint broke dont fix it. And judging by (just) the charting of C=S, i think its safe to say people dont want the next album to be even dirtier!
October 26, 200816 yr I hope Sugababes will take a break after this album. One of the reasons of floppage of C&S is that it is being released only a year ago after Change. In the late of 2006 there was "Singles Collection" and in the late of 2005 there was Taller In More Ways. I think the audience got tired of group.

That isnt really the reason i dont think, many other bands/artists release albums every year. Im not sure whats happened with C+S.
October 26, 200816 yr Avoid turning this thread into a 'Catfights is rubbish' thread please, there's an album thread for you to voice opinions in people. Robintime, they've been planning to take a break after C&S and then put out a new album in 2010 for some while. If you've heard them talk about C&S, you'd know they're incredibly keen on it and proud of it and quite obviously NOT 'wishing it didnt happen'...
October 26, 200816 yr ^^ no i dont mean it like that. I just think its strange to talk about what route you will take with a much later album when you have only just released one. It makes it sound a bit like, well the next one isnt going to be anything like this new one.
October 26, 200816 yr Well it might not be :heehee: This isn't really anything like Change, Change wasn't much like Taller. I don't think their fans ever expect two of their albums to be much alike... we'll see though, of course.
October 26, 200816 yr the topic title got me all excited :( i was expecting them to say album #7 is full of Easy and Freak  I love SugaElectroPop. it's just so good :( i do hope they don't abandon Electopop for long
October 26, 200816 yr Oh dear, i was expecting them to say the next album would be full of Easy's and Freak Like Me's aswell. Very dissapointing.
October 26, 200816 yr Im sure the next album will be amazing - just hope we dont have to wait too long for it
October 27, 200816 yr i think some electropop is cool because they're very good at it, and it may be their easiest route to commercial success. But C&S is great, so if they'd chosen to stick with one sound or producer we'd never have had that. It's not Sugababes style to stick with the same sound- one of the reasons they are a pop band with longevity is their ability to change and reinvent their sound, while still sounding like the Sugababes. I'm a little bugged they are talking about an album appoximately 2 years away though the week this one is released. It kind of undermines C&S and i know what Robin means, when you say "next time we'll do this instead" it can sound like you're correcting earlier mistakes even if that's not what you mean Great they're obviously keen to continue making music though :D Edited October 27, 200816 yr by spicefunk
