Yesterday, Seventeen got an exclusive first listen of a few of Leona Lewis's new songs from her upcoming album Echo, which is due in stores November 17. The first single, "Happy," was co-wrtten by Leona and producer Ryan Tedder, who helped her out with the smash hit "Bleeding Love." September 15, 200915 yr I'm so glad shes been writing more.I remember reading a quote from Clive somewhere saying that Leona will be "exploring her songwriting talent" with this album?Well shes obviously proved herself if they've chosen "Happy" as the lead single because she co-wrote it.
September 17, 200915 yr "American Idol"'s Simon Cowell invites ET into his home for a revealing interview with "Bleeding Love" singer Leona Lewis! Simon helped discover Leona on Britain's "X Factor" and co-produced her upcoming album Echo, in stores November 17. He tells us the album -- featuring the brand new single "Happy" -- will be something of a departure in sound from Leona's famous version of "Bleeding Love." "Everyone says, 'Well, that was a hit song, I want something that sounds like that.' So you've got to move away from that and make something that sounds distinct to you." The singer herself says of Echo: "I think now I've stepped up a bit, evolved the sounds." Leona performed Wednesday night on the finale of "America's Got Talent," and you can also catch her on the "VH1 Divas" concert, airing Thursday at 9 p.m. on VH1.
