Leona Lewis's Next Single Will Make You "Happy!"

Yesterday, Seventeen got an exclusive first listen of a few of Leona Lewis's new songs from her upcoming album Echo, which is due in stores November 17. The first single, "Happy," was co-wrtten by Leona and producer Ryan Tedder, who helped her out with the smash hit "Bleeding Love."

After listening to a few of the new tracks, we're happy to report that Leona's changing it up a bit with some faster tempos (But don't worry, it still sounds like Leona, so you'll love it!).

Some info in this Rolling Stone article about the album:

http://www.jrecords.com/leonalewis/echo/leonalewis_rollingstone.jpg

Main points:

* I Got You (not U thankfully) was produced by Max Martin.

* Brave is mentioned so likely to be on the album.

* She has recorded a song with Ne-Yo called Can't Fight It. Here is the demo:

this is probably my most anticipated album this year, hope it has a good mix of ballads and fast songs though, she needs 1 or 2 club bangers :D
That Ne-Yo demo sounds bloody amazing! :o Really can't wait to hear a proper version of it!

This tracklisting posted online:

1. Happy (produced by Ryan Tedder)

2. Heartbeat (produced by Ina Wroldsen and Arnthor Birgisson)

3. Can’t Fight It (produced by Ne-Yo)

4. Heal (produced by Max Martin)

5. My Hands (produced by Ina Wroldsen and Arnthor Birgisson)

6. Smoke and Mirrors (produced by Xenomania)

7. Forever (produced by Los Da Mystro)

8. Between The Lines (produced by Novel and John Shanks)

9. Closer (produced by Jay-Z)

10. No More (produced by Timbaland)

11. Love (produced by Novel and John Shanks)

12. Strangers (produced by Ryan Tedder)

13. Come To Life (produced by Timbaland)

14. Escape (produced by Matt Hales)

Cant understand why someone would fake one but not include a Justin T track or leaks like IGY/Brave etc.

14 songs would be very nice though!

Questions Ina as producer for a minute but she is actually listed as producer/co-writer of her two tracks. http://www.nettwerk.com/producer/ina-wrold...pcoming-release

Checked and got told: "yes its fake – mostly rubbish"

Mostly rubbish I expect because some of the songs are real.

No surprise it's fake, it would be odd not to use the songs that were leaked.

Sep 08 2009 - Leona Lewis Returns With Brand New Single ‘Happy’!

Leona’s amazing story continues. After winning the hearts and minds of the public in 2006 by winning the X Factor, Leona has gone on to conquer the world. With Number One albums and singles all over the world Leona’s debut album ‘Spirit’ has sold over 6 million copies whilst breaking records, receiving prestigious award nominations and making chart history both here and in the US along the way. Leona has spent much of 2009 back in the studio working on her new album and her brand new single ‘Happy’ welcomes Leona’s anticipated return to work.

‘Happy’ is Leona doing what she does best – she’s back with another trademark epic Leona ballad. From the moment the vocal comes in it’s obvious how this girl has got this far in her career. ‘Happy’ sees Leona back with writing partner and ‘Bleeding Love’ compatriot Ryan Tedder and their formula has worked again. Rising from a fragile, almost acapella intro, a gorgeous piano line carries it to an anthemic life-affirming chorus featuring a gravity defying vocal performance.

“That vocal was totally spontaneous, I sang it down as soon as we finished writing, sometimes it’s better not to over-think things,” says Leona shrugging off any fears of recreating those head-spinning high notes live. “It’s weird because the highest parts of my voice – my head voice - are the actually ones that I find easier singing. I was trained in Opera so that comes really natural to me.”

‘Happy’ gives a hint at what’s to come from Leona’s second album ‘Echo’. ‘Echo’ is set for release on November 16th almost exactly two years since Leona’s phenomenal debut ‘Spirit’. ‘Echo’ promises big emotions, sweeping and widescreen melodies and spine tingling vocals. The album sees Leona teaming up again with writers Ne-Yo, John Shanks, Max Martin and Ryan Tedder as well as working with new collaborators Xenomania and Julian Bennetta.

While Leona readily admits she is well aware of the expectations on her in following up her 6 million plus selling debut ‘Spirit’, she is focused on putting that out of her head and just creating great songs – none more so than lead single ‘Happy’

Leona says: “I’m actually more confident with this album than the last. I’ve taken more control this time and I feel more at ease with everything. To me, it’s all about great songs and I hope the songs move people as much as they move me. I hope so anyway.”

Leona admits she is at time caught off guard by the haunting, ethereal quality in her own voice and is, quite simply, moved to tears, like the millions who have been touched by her voice since she won that show and began releasing a series of songs that defied preconceived ideas of what mere ‘talent show winners’ could ever be or become.

“It’s weird I know, but sometimes it feels like something outside myself. It’s not necessarily that a lyric is even something that’s happened to me but I almost feel like it has because I can get swept up by the emotion, and when I do it can be overwhelming.”

New song title: Unreachable. Written by Leona, Toby Gad and Lindy Robbins. Hopefully it has made the album as she helped write it. :)

I'm so glad shes been writing more.I remember reading a quote from Clive somewhere saying that Leona will be "exploring her songwriting talent" with this album?Well shes obviously proved herself if they've chosen "Happy" as the lead single because she co-wrote it.
"American Idol"'s Simon Cowell invites ET into his home for a revealing interview with "Bleeding Love" singer Leona Lewis!

Simon helped discover Leona on Britain's "X Factor" and co-produced her upcoming album Echo, in stores November 17. He tells us the album -- featuring the brand new single "Happy" -- will be something of a departure in sound from Leona's famous version of "Bleeding Love."

"Everyone says, 'Well, that was a hit song, I want something that sounds like that.' So you've got to move away from that and make something that sounds distinct to you."

The singer herself says of Echo: "I think now I've stepped up a bit, evolved the sounds."

Leona performed Wednesday night on the finale of "America's Got Talent," and you can also catch her on the "VH1 Divas" concert, airing Thursday at 9 p.m. on VH1.

Video here: lovely to see them together talking. Simon really loves Happy :D

Don't Let Me Down has fast become one of my favourite Leona songs.

There's something so simplistic yet desperate about her vocals in it. Absolutely love it.

I think I'm the only one who missed the song when it was leaked <_<
I think I'm the only one who missed the song when it was leaked <_<

Lol, I'm pretty sure it's still on YT.. for some reason it hasn't been removed.

I don't want to post the link as I'll get shot down. It's an unfinished track btw.
