The album is sounding fantastic. The ones I'm looking forward to the most are:

Can't Breathe

Outta My Head

Naked

Don't Let Me Down

Alive

I sooo hope 'Outta My Head' is the next single!! I think thats the stand-out track for me so far.
She definitely needs to release an uptempo so she shows the versatility that we all know she's capable of :)

Definitely, and 'Outta My Head', I think, would be the perfect song to do it with.

"Outta My Head" definitely sounds great, but it's not my favourite. I think people are shooting their load because it's a hot uptempo, LOL. It should definitely be a single at some point (probably release #2) as the world needs to see a new side to Leona. Although it's not my favourite clip, this would've worked so much better as the lead single. It's seriously aggrivating how "Happy" was released as the lead, as while it's good, it just doesn't cut it.

Anyway, "Can't Breathe", "My Hands", "Naked" & "Lost Then Found" sound like they'll be my favourites. The whole record sounds really strong, though. I can't name a song I didn't like (though I'm sure that'll change). I'm definitely anticipating this a lot more now, as I was worried after hearing "Happy" (and I do actually like the song).

Review from The Sun. Shocked they dont like OMH.

LEONA LEWIS is queen of the killer ballad and second album Echo reinforces that.

I've had an exclusive listen to the CD, out on November 16, and it's a soaring success - except for one track.

Outta My Head sees the songbird try a throbbing dancefloor number and the result sounds like BRITNEY SPEARS being mugged by BASSHUNTER. Not good.

But it is the only questionable moment on a brilliant collection of classy songcraft which will propel the London lass into the premier league of globe-slaying divas.

The delicate I Got You is a distant cousin of U2 anthem With Or Without You, and Can't Breathe sees skittering electronic bursts strapped to a stunning power ballad.

LED ZEPPELIN's epic, Middle East-inspired track Kashmir is the unlikely jumping-off point for the cinematic Brave. And a gospel choir is wheeled out to glorious effect on messy break-up anthem My Hands.

The album's 13 tracks are heavy on heartache.

The symphonic Broken goes: "I know it's going to take some time to realise I've got nothing left inside/Nothing you haven't broken."

And power-track Naked trills: "There's a heart-breaking chilling running through my bones/Whatever I've done I'm naked without you."

Stop Crying Your Heart Out is a majestic interpretation of the OASIS standard, which will soar just as high as Leona's take on SNOW PATROL's Run.

A great effort from a very special lady.

Mirror review:

Listen for the Echo of Leona

By 3am 23/10/2009

Her first album, Spirit, was the biggest seller of 2007, so no pressure on Leona Lewis, then.

We got an exclusive sneak preview of the X Factor winner's second album, Echo, out on November 16, and it's a great.

As you'd expect, it's a ballad-heavy with the Hackney girl's trademark vocal gymnastics, but also has some sparks of musical brilliance.

Happy, her current single, is a great opener and we reckon the catchy Outta My Head has hit written all over it.

Our other highlights were the upbeat I Got You, Don't Let Me Down, with backing vocals from Justin Timberlake, and her tender version of Oasis' Stop Crying Your Heart Out.

Leona Lewis to release “Echo” in November

Leona Lewis "Echo"Multi-platinum singer and songwriter Leona Lewis, who took the music world by storm with her 2008 debut album Spirit, will release its follow-up, entitled ECHO, on November 17th on J Records/Syco Music.

After proving her commercial potency on the three-time Grammy-nominated Spirit, which entered both the U.K. and U.S. album charts at No. 1, spawned the best-selling single of 2008 (“Bleeding Love”), and sold more than six million copies worldwide, ECHO gave Lewis the opportunity to take a few chances. “I knew that I had evolved as a singer, songwriter, and performer,” she says, “so it was important to me to take the songs on ECHO to the next level and show what else I could do.”

To that end, Lewis co-wrote nine songs on the album, collaborating with a host of A-list songwriters and producers, including re-teaming with One Republic frontman and “Bleeding Love” co-writer/producer Ryan Tedder on three tracks, including the first single “Happy.” She also worked with Swedish studio vet Max Martin and songwriter/producer Novel, as well as new collaborators Justin Timberlake, multi-platinum Bon Jovi/Kelly Clarkson producer John Shanks, and in-demand hitmakers Evan Bogart and Kevin Rudolf. Each helped Lewis deliver raw emotion through the melodies and lyrics and make full use of her “titanium-caliber voice” (as the New York Times has described it). Once again, Clive Davis and Simon Cowell joined forces to co-produce ECHO.

ECHO also finds the 24-year-old London native expanding her palette and exploring adventurous sonic territory. The dancefloor-friendly “Outta My Head” is sleek, stylish electro-pop, while the rock-driven “Love Letter” and “I Got You” show an edgier side of Lewis. Then there’s “Brave,” which soars with a Middle Eastern influence and pounding timpanis, and the sultry, synth-driven “Fly Here Now.”

“I really wanted a dramatic, almost cinematic quality to the songs,” says Lewis, a self-described “film nerd” who namechecks ’80s fantasy film The Labyrinth as her all-time favorite. “We would even put on movies in the studio to inspire us; it was a cool way of writing. I’m always thinking of scenes in my head.” Of course, ECHO features plenty of epic, lush ballads to satisfy Spirit fans, including the uplifting first single “Happy,” which Lewis says is “about overcoming obstacles and striving for happiness,” and People magazine called “passionate and soul-searching.”

It’s that passion and soulfulness that permeate ECHO, which Lewis can’t wait for the public to hear. “I’m actually more confident with this album than the last,” she says. “I’ve taken more control this time and I feel more at ease with everything. To me, it’s all about great songs. I hope they move people as much as they move me.”

Lewis was “discovered” in 2006 after auditioning for The X Factor, a British talent show executive-produced by American Idol’s Simon Cowell, who is also a judge. The then-22-year old — who attended performing arts academy The BRIT School, and famously worked as a Pizza Hut waitress to support her fledging music career — won the competition after endearing herself to fans week after week with her soaring voice, down-to-earth personality, and striking beauty. Certain he had a superstar on his hands, Cowell phoned legendary music executive and J Records founder Clive Davis, who teamed up with Cowell to sign Lewis to J Records/Syco Music, Cowell’s joint venture with Sony Music Entertainment in 2006.

She hasn't covered Kashmir, she's covered Stop Crying Your Heart Out by Oasis.

Really? I've read about 5 times now that she's covered Led Zeppelin's Kashmir?

Nope she hasn't. The only place I've seen it mentioned is The Sun review which is just saying that Brave is similar:

LED ZEPPELIN's epic, Middle East-inspired track Kashmir is the unlikely jumping-off point for the cinematic Brave.

Yeah that was one of the reports,

Thanks for clearing that up, I misread it.
