November 8, 200816 yr :cheer: :cheer: 2-1, should have been more but for the $h!tness of Bendtner. No doubt Man Utd should've won 12-0 according to This Charming Man though.
November 8, 200816 yr Yeah Bendtner was awful! But so was Anderson for them so ten men a piece haha! SO HAPPY, but I was in Twickenham so they had no sound on the football to please the rugby goers... was Van Persie suspended because of the Stoke game? Just benched? I think we missed him, though he didn't finish against Fenerbahce he still created... however Nasri had an excellent game.. and despite letting a goal in, Fabianski did better than expected, I literally $h!t my pants when Almunia hobbled off and he came on! GET IN! so happy!
November 8, 200816 yr Van Persie is suspended for another 2 matches after this one ;) Anderson has been one of our best players recently imo, we had plenty of chances but we just didn't take them! Great game though! Arsenal aren't out of this just yet!
November 8, 200816 yr I really enjoyed watching this match as a spectacle. It was an absolute pleasure to watch football played at that high quality. That was the best match I've seen since the 2008 ECL final. However, yet again this match was further evidence that Berbatov is just not good enough at this level because he is lazy and does little off the ball movement. I mean how many times did he touch the ball today compared to the excellent (bar forgetting his shooting boots) Wayne Rooney & the ever more ominous Cristiano Ronaldo? No wonder Tevez is hacked off being kept out of the side for what is essentially a passenger except when the ball gets within a metre of him. Congratulations to Arsenal for pulling a much needed win out of that fixture, whilst Gallas impressed me with his captain man motivation efforts today especially during the Almunia-Carrick stoppage, but they badly need a defensive midfielder of the quality of Patrick Viera from his prime.

Did you see how many great passes he made in the Hull game? He could have had four assists that day! I was skeptical at first but now I think he's gradually starting to settle in personally. Interestingly it looked like Wenger was trying to play Toure in the Viera/Flamini type role which may or may not work, personally I'm in the opinion that Silvestre is past it now.
November 8, 200816 yr I must admit I don't get to see United regularly... so fair play if Anderson is usually quite good.. you didn't think he was today though did you? Even the United fans in the pub were screaming for him to be removed and were happy when Giggsy came on. It was a great game, some great football from both teams. I'm actually quite surprised after the last two games we pulled it out the bag.. though even without commentary it did seem as if we had some MAJOR luck on our side... props to Grandwicky for not going all out on the 'we should have had this free kick and this penalty route'... I guess that's football, every team suffers and gains from it. I still think United will be there or thereabouts come the season end.

But really, the games against the Top 4 are where the title is won and lost. And Man Utd have got 1 point out of 9 so far in the games against the Top 4. Isn't good. I guess there's still 3 games to go though. I've not seen the game so I can't comment, but it sounds like it was a really good game.
November 8, 200816 yr I thought Anderson played quite well myself  Seemed to be doing a good job in the midfield especially considering it was 3v2 in Arsenal's favour in the middle of the park. So glad we won though, I really didn't think we would tbh  The next few weeks are really going to be make or break for us, in the run up to Christmas we have Villa (H), Man City (A), Chelsea (A), Wigan (H), Middlesbrough (A) and Liverpool (H), all 3 away games are going to be tough, Villa are likely to cause us problems like last season at the Emirates, Liverpool will be tough, and after Wigan's start to the season I reckon it's not gonna be long before they start moving up the table, especially as I predicted them to finish top half
November 9, 200816 yr Well in today's paper this seems to be the main talking point of the Arsenal v Man Utd match, absolutely nothing to do with what went on the football pitch.... mSwqfaccurw
November 14, 200816 yr I've actually changed my mind of Arsene Wenger a little bit after reading the following quote from an interview a while back: "Reporter: Arsene are you worried about the atmosphere at the Bernebau?" "Arsene: No, I've been to Sunderland." Whingey old tit or not, that's a legendary quote and I take my hat off to the man
November 14, 200816 yr Lol! That didn't take much :P I've always said Newcastle and Sunderland fans are always the best and most passionate so he's probably right with that quote! Well not Newcastle fans now after the pathetic way they've reacted to recent events
November 14, 200816 yr Well not Newcastle fans now after the pathetic way they've reacted to recent events  Newcastle fans don't even sing though, they just boo. I think this is my new favourite thread
November 14, 200816 yr Well they didn't use to, they follwed and supported their team no matter what and you'd always get huge amounts of fans to away games no matter where but now because of their blind faith towards a manager who was gonna quit soon enough anyway they felt the need to put racist banners around their ground, boo them, cry like babies and not turn up

There's this massive, undying belief from the geordie contingient that it's their god given right to be challenging for cups and for Europe and this, that and the other. Though quite where it comes from, nobody outside of Newcastle really knows. And that's why there's so much frustation. No stability, unrealistic expecations and supporters who expect trophies overnight
November 20, 200816 yr Author Newcastle fans are terrible  They have this deluded view that they are some sort of huge club who have a divine right to be in Europe ever year. They really need to take a look at the date when they last won a trophy. Just because you have more seats in your ground doesn't make you a huge club to reckon with. I mean Darlo has a huge ground for a League 2 side
