March 9, 200916 yr Something I'm surprised with - they didn't call the Semifinals the Seventh Round (after all, I don't think the BBC called the Quarterfinals the Sixth Round).
May 31, 200916 yr Suprised no-one's mentioned the FA Cup final... Granted I didn't see the game as I was out but I was hoping that the match would be cancelled as I didn't want either of them to win.
May 31, 200916 yr Author  It was a fairly decent game, certainly better than I was expecting. Pleased Chelsea won though, for Guus.
May 31, 200916 yr The best match commentary you can hope to hear is on Radio... Seriously... My mates swear by it.. They watch the match on telly, and turn on the radio to hear the commentary.. Because radio commentary has to be far more descriptive, it stands to reason that it has to be good...
May 31, 200916 yr Author I would but they have Alan Green for the bigger games. And I think I'd rather listen to Clive Tyldsley! :manson:
May 31, 200916 yr Alan Green is hopeless. He spends his time having a good old rant rather than describing the action.
May 31, 200916 yr ITV are awful. Clive Tyldesley (a partizan MancU lover who makes Radio 5Live's Alan Green seem unbiased towards Liverpool in comparison) + David Pleat; and match analysis from Andy Townsend. :manson: I'm glad I watched the Final on Setanta. Commentator: Jon Champion; co-commentator Craig Burley. Reporter: Kelly Dalglish. Pundits: Terry Venables & Steve McManaman. At least the FA Cup Final was a decent match unlike the European Champions League Final which Manchester United did not even bother turning up to.
May 31, 200916 yr Author I watched a bit on Setanta but they're even worse. John Champion is third choice ITV commentator and it shows, and there are no pundits worse than Steve McManaman.
May 31, 200916 yr I watched a bit on Setanta but they're even worse. John Champion is third choice ITV commentator and it shows, and there are no pundits worse than Steve McManaman. Are you assuming Alan Shearer won't be returning to punditry any time soon?
June 1, 200916 yr ITV are awful. Burley is an absolute tosser of the highest order. Bananaman isn't much better, whoevers bright idea it was to bring him in as a pundit needs a good hard slap. If Sunderland are away and the game's on Setanta I mute the sound and stick Real Radio or Radio Newcastle on, Nick Barnes and Gary Bennett ftw. Mind you, they're crap compared to Crabbers and Gary Rowell.
June 8, 200916 yr Why do they keep showing Manchester United matches on ITV1 and yet Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal get pushed onto ITV 2, 3, or 4 Man Utd. suck.
June 8, 200916 yr Author Well for a start ITV only show matches on a Tuesday and can only show one of the four teams. Arsenal and Man Utd played Tuesday one week and Wednesday the next, Liverpool and Chelsea the other way around. So Liverpool or Chelsea were shown half the time, and Arsenal and Man Utd shown half the time. They probably got picked more than Arsenal because they went further (by one round, granted) and their games were more exciting/important. Man Utd vs Inter Milan or Arsenal vs Roma. Always going to be United...
June 8, 200916 yr Why do they keep showing Manchester United matches on ITV1 and yet Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal get pushed onto ITV 2, 3, or 4 Man Utd. suck. Because they're the most popular team thus they will pull in the most viewers, plus a lot of the time they make it into a huge drama causing heart attacks to their fans
