Posted June 10, 200619 yr on now the original http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/f/ff/Italian_job69_cover.jpg however did anyone else think the remake wasnt all that bad? http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/2/20/ItalianJob2003DVDCover.jpg and i like this dvd cover as well
June 10, 200619 yr I have seen them both and as much as I liked the remake it just didn't have something the origanl did, I am not sure what it is but it was missing something.
June 10, 200619 yr If the remake had been a standalone movie with a different name I would have liked it for sure but the fact that the original is one of the all time great movies made me much more cynical about the "remake"
June 10, 200619 yr Author If the remake had been a standalone movie with a different name I would have liked it for sure but the fact that the original is one of the all time great movies made me much more cynical about the "remake" well suppose it would have more recognition with the title from the 1960s film. but maybe it was better it was just a different film with the mini chase in it. and didnt blow the bloody doors off
June 10, 200619 yr The remake was Ok, it wasnt a bad film by any means, but as Ozzy said, it would have been better as a stand alone film, not just a half arsed attempt at a remake.

June 11, 200619 yr I really dont like the remake. I thought it was completely sacreligious!!! However, reading Ozzy's idea that if the film had stood independent from the original, then I can see it's appeal. So I dont really have any new comments to make.lol...
June 11, 200619 yr .. dunno how you can do a remake, tij was typical of the late 60's, it belongs there, im not sure a remake could capture the mood of the time. i havnt seen it, nor do i intend to.
June 11, 200619 yr The "remake" was just full of sh!t.... So bad, almost as bad as that godawful "Alfie" remake with Jude Law....  Yeah, cos Jude Law is a really credible stand-in for Michael Caine isn't he.....    So, out of the three iconic Michael Caine films that have been rehashed (Get Carter, Italian Job and Alfie), not one comes close to touching the original.... But do ya think that'll stop the fukkers doing "Ipcress File"?? One can only hope so.....
June 11, 200619 yr Author well it must have done the business as The Brazilian Job is out next year!!!
June 12, 200619 yr Author The brazilian job sounds nasty! however dont think it will be as bad as that other brazilian job, the one that takes place by the supermodels in new york's taxi
